Part 6

Damien--------------------------------------------Alexia-------------------------------------------Jake
June 2004
Alexia
The young woman, now twenty two years old, smiled to herself as she felt her hand being squeezed slightly by the man beside her. She returned the squeeze, and looked up at him. Her expression softened as she drank in his sculptured features. This was her Damien, the man she knew and loved. She went onto tip toe to kiss his cheek softly, taking in his musky scent as she did. She felt him move his head towards her slightly as her lips pressed against his skin.
"I love you Damien" she said softly, resting her head on his shoulder.
She felt him chuckle slightly, and heard him reply with, "I love you too Alexia, more than anything", as he moved his arm to put it around her shoulder.
The couple were in Hyde Park, London, enjoying the warm weather. Alexia had moved into Damien's apartment not two months before, and they had been inseperable since.
Alexia found her eyes wondering to Damien once again. She considered herself lucky that a man this good looking would choose to be with her. She bit her lip slightly as she thought about the two of them. It was perfect, all of it. Their first kiss had been one of a kind. She remembered how he had looked into her eyes before moving his head slightly towards her; hesitant yet determinded. She remembered their skin touching, how she had felt a shiver down her spine when he kissed her jawline. She knew that it would never be the same with anyone else.
She blinked as Damien looked down at her, and smiled. His dark green eyes twinkled, and his black hair rustled in the cool summer breeze. He kissed her forehead, and hugged her close to him protectively. She smiled at his touch, and shivered at his warmth.
She was about to close her eyes, when she saw a figure on the ground. A very familiar figure whose eyes were on them, their face expressionless.
"Jake?"
Jake
"Jake?"
Oh god, she must have seen him. What if she thought that he was stalking her? No, that was ridiculous. It wasn't exactly his fault if the couple had walked right infront of him.
She must have seen him move in surprise, as she had separated herself from Damien and had hurried towards him. Jake didn't get up however. What with Damien around, it would have been wrong to give her a hug. But to his surprise, he found Alexia's arms around him none the less.
Her blonde hair was falling around her lit up face as she looked at him, evidently happy to see him.
"Its been ages, how have you been?" She asked excitedly, smiling all the while.
It took Jake a few seconds to reply, until he said, "I've been fine. And yourself?" Simple words, that took far too long to patch together.
"I've been fantastic, I've been with Damien. Did you hear? We moved in together a few months ago!"
Jake watched her talk, and felt his heart drop.
"Its been fantastic, he's got a large house in Parsons Gree-"
"Alexia?" Jake asked softly, cutting her off and putting a hand on her shoulder gently.
She looked affronted to begin, but then frowned softly. "What is it Jake?"
"Do you love him?"
She looked into his eyes, and he looked into her purple ones, loosing himself.
"More than anything", she said a few seconds later.
Jake's hand fell to the ground, his eyes fell to the floor. "That man is no good for you" he muttered.
"Excuse me?" Asked Alexia, the frown deepening.
"That man is no good for you. You deserve someone better", Jake said, looking up into her eyes fiercly.
Alexia's mouth dropped open. "What? What are you saying? You want me to leave Damien? For who? For what?"
"For me" Jake said simply.
Jake stayed still as Alexia watched him.
"I love him Jake. I'm not leaving him", she said, standing up. "I love him, and he loves me. We are a couple."
It was then that Jake noticed a ring. A simple diamond ring glittered on her hand. Such unworthy fingers had slid it onto her delicate finger.
"You're marrying him", Jake said hoarsly.
Alexia nodded, glaring at him. "We will be wed in the autumn." She said curtly, crossing her arms.
His world began to spin. Everything was going wrong. And now she was walking away. He opened his mouth to call her back, but found that he was speechless.
