If the hint itself doesn't specifically talk only about the teen stage, then it won't matter, as it could only apply to the grown cat, which we haven't seen. It's a nuance but I know of several hints from previous years that have thrown people off like that
Nose and eye colour don't generally change though, so if it has to do with those, feel free to discuss your conclusions here c:

I got three of tonight's cat (which I adore) and none of the ghost-y cat
The ghost cat and sketchi's should be friends
