I remember when I sent a trade to a user asking what they wanted for one of their Malk Fire wolves, and they just accepted with "enjoy!". That made me smile, and I was really new then so it was really nice :3

I got my white Malk Toyger that way. I remember my accept message was something like "Thank you so much! Feel free to pick a free pet out of my groups if you ever see one you like. :)", since they'd said I didn't have anything they wanted at the time. They never did come back...

Ah! The old pound. :3 Never in my life was I so glad to have a fast computer than when I caught it open. A lot of my current 09 pets are pound catches, since I traded away a lot of my adopted ones. (In very stupid trades, too... I didn't really understand how to spot an unfair trade until 2010, when I started hoarding.)

How long has it been since the pets were without rarity tags? I seem to remember a time when they didn't have them, but I could be imagining it.

I dont think they had rariety tags when I first joined. I remember being kinda active at first and then not so active and then I completely forgot about it untill like november. Oh the pets I missed. And wow how rare some of my pets are now. I wish I would have kept some to use as trades but back then I didnt care about trades at all. I pretty much gave my pets away. And I remember when the forum had a totally different layout, too. I never really liked forums back then so I didnt really use it. Gosh, that was so long ago. I feel so old saying I remember the first horses and rats and nick pets and owls.

I liked CS so much more back then. In a way, I kind of wish that it hadn't grown so much; however I am very happy for the success that this site has brought Tess and Nick, and they've both done an outstanding job.

In the old days, everyone was... more relaxed, I guess. People weren't as informed either, though, unless they were really into CS. It confused me when I first joined so like many others, I only adopted one Toxic, one Rose Dog, etc. I remember adopting hundreds upon hundreds of a special 2nd gen pairing because I wanted the rarest outcome.


I remember when people didn't want their PPS pets and thought that PPS was a terrible disease, and people were taking in PPS pets for free. I remember being particularly upset at February 2009 because my only pup had turned into a PPS instead of the pretty curly-tailed adult. But then CS took a rather sharp turn and scammers and hoarders and gurus came about, and it was more competitive than anything.

But, all paws down, 2008 was the best. ^_^

I wish I had stayed in '08, it sounds like it was a great year for CS. I re-joined in late 2009, so by then the relaxing times of '08 were pretty much just a memory. But I enjoyed '09, although I wish I had of kept my extras instead of deleting them >.<

I got myJoker that way 'cuz I got two green bat-winged :D
Also being a newbie in October and adopting 20 pages of pets before the limit existed because I thought there were like 100 outcomes orz

I knew a few German people before, but when we got our own thread, I met dozens of others, and it's great to see how many of them are still here :3
Also, CS was such a small community back then that I almost had the feeling of knowing everybody xD

Or at least, without as many. I happily adopted a toxic and an apple on dec.18 2009 and I can't remember getting many (or any) scammy trades!

Yeah, you know? You're right.
I remember in 2009 I don't think I saw one single "Dec 18th" group full of scammed away from newbies Rares List pets.

What has happened to this site in the past two years?
