How do you all decide on the upper limit of your hoards?

I personally have no self control with my hoards so all my hoards are unlimited no matter what pet they are

How do you all decide on the upper limit of your hoards?

I usually just hoard 1 page of pets. It looks nice and I don't want/need more.

And then you have my Chinese New Year hoard which is 40,000+ and just. won't. stop.

How do you all decide on the upper limit of your hoards?

100 is the goal for almost all my hoards. This is a nice number and also a good amount of pages, 5.
20 is what I do for rare outcomes, but I've been trying to also let myself do only 20 for others,
Like if I appreciate a pet but not as much as my other hoards.
That way I can have a nice full page but try to cut down on the amount of hoards I have total.
(but it's hard cause my brain has always been like "100")

Sometimes I get around my brain by doing duo (or triple/quad) hoards to 100 of the same litter.
So then I only have to do a smaller amount of each pet but still end with 100

I do have one unlimited hoard, and that is my favorite pet ever. I've liked it for 10 years now
(ohmygosh that's such a longtime I hadn't realized)
so I don't think I'll stop hoarding it.
I am tempted by the one Starry Night themed Staff pet as an unlimited hoard
(cause my username) but they're a lil tricky to trade for

Occasionally I have to drop my hoard goal since the pet is actually much harder to find than I thought.

Wow! So many answers. In which case here is my malk fox hoard. No upper limit. The number is a bit bigger but I've been bad about sorting my pets. might be as high as 180.

traded for a few more today so we're actually at 105

question: upon losing interest in a hoard, do you prefer to disband the group or just discontinue collecting?
