I'm still super intrigued with these guys, too!

I could definitely see them being based on herbivores like you guys said, though I'm still pretty unsure what the first one would be. I thought that maybe they're different plants - flowers or something? Or maybe even leaves. The second bab reminds me of a nice autumn leaf (:

Since geodes are ruled out, I think it has something to do with rhinestones due to the shape and color of the 'gem', but I still can't figure out what the cracked gray background on the newborn would be. One person suggested 'diamonds in the rough', but I didn't think it would be something abstract like that.

Maybe the newborn just showed the rhinestone forming, and the adult stage might not have anything to do with the grey background. I was surprised with the hamster outcomes

I like my theory from a while back about the ponies being based on gems in meteorites, since it explains the grey background pretty well.

Not that I actually like rats, considering I tend to trade them all away, but I kinda noticed that they are a bit late while all the deer have grown, two hamsters, two cats, one pony, two chickens in their third stage, and most of the staff litter. Gotta say I'm a bit surprised

xxxxxWhy haha? I'm sure most people are actually quite unsurprised. Rodents naturally on CS only have two stages, the baby and the adult, so it's understandable that they are amongst the last to grow, seeing as they don't have that middle stage to grow into earlier. The hamsters this month are growing fairly earlier because I've notised hamsters grow a bit earlier than rats in general, and also because it's a litter twice the size of the rat litter, which means more outcomes to grow and spread throughout the month
