today, i hit the milestone of 25 grey border collies:

here's no. 25 ^^ what a cutie.

i hit 20 in january of 2022 so it took me over a year (granted there were a bunch of hiatuses) to get the last 5 to reach this number (':

but i'm so happy. i absolutely love these lil guys and just thought i'd share ♡

I've cut down on my hoarding quite a bit and have decided to just keep them to one group, it allows me to set a realistic limit for myself at 20 pets for each hoard. Also makes the whole checkerboard thing much easier !!

(I kinda cheated with one of mine and another one, though I doubt anyone remembers the specifics and I probably should just pretend I did the hard work myself and hope no one looks at the pet IDs xp) they were event adopts that was kinda like the store pets where they're all created in the same order, so I just had to hunt down people willing to trade their sets away :p

I did persevere and get this rabbit hoard checkerboarded though, and it's one of my favorite looking groups I think!

I did manage a 5/10/5 with an advent that was released a second day though, which I really love the look of

Checkers/pattern hoards are my weakness
my toxic trait is thining I could turn all of my duo hoards into them ;-;
but I'm just not as active as I want to be in trading
and my brain basically demands 100 for the even 5 pages

How do you all decide on the upper limit of your hoards?

How do you all decide on the upper limit of your hoards?

I don't like huge hoards for myself so I decided for smaller numbers instead.

For my smaller hoards I decide 13 pets each and for my bigger 30 each because both numbers are my favorite numbers. The smaller hoards are just for regular pets I like and the bigger ones for my favorite pets.

How do you all decide on the upper limit of your hoards?

It's a bit arbitrary imo but I usually have set numbers I hoard in general. 100 for most uncommons and below, 50 for rares, and 20 for store pets/VRs that are harder to find. Sometimes if I REALLY like a pet I'll aim for 200 or more. If I have a hoard over 500 though it's usually because it's unlimited OR the final number is representative of the media that the hoard is based on. For example, my Deduction hoard's final goal number (1800+) is the year that the first Sherlock Holmes book takes place in.

I mostly do one page (20 pet) hoards, but otherwise I just pick a nice round number. If I reach the goal too fast I might raise it. If I don't have a goal, I tend to not actually collect the pet lol.

I don't 😅 I tried once and ended up with 10 more than I planned and kept going. All of my hoards are unlimited

How do you all decide on the upper limit of your hoards?

I prefer only collecting same-pet hoards of no more than 20 personally, and my collection-hoards have one of every pet that fits that 'category' so those have no limit. Honestly it's up to you! How many do you want? What makes you happy? How many can you afford to trade for?

I hoard and I hoard big. I keep hoarding a particular hoard until either I decide I'm less enthusiastic about them, or I'm tired of getting only that hoard in trades. At that point, I pick the nicest number it's close to and fit to there, example
