I'd say it's unfair to them, if a 2016 store pet worth a mid 2010 rare, 2017 store pets would worth a late mid 2010 rare, or a newest rare.

Technically they are overpaying. The only pets needed are the '08 very rare rat, and the other 2 '09 rares since your pet is worth 3-4 '09 rares. So they are overpaying. Be mindful that it takes a little bit of patience to trade off list to list again.

Actually this would be unfair to the store pets. They each are worth a late 2010 rare and 2 2010 rares equal a 09 rare. So they would need to add another late 09 rare to make this fair for all 4 store pets.
