Is anyone else intrigued by the rarities of pets in recent months?
November's and October's pets have plenty of uncommons and some commons. I remember when uncommons were usually only once per pet litter. Since I know rarities are based off of "x many pets per user", then does it mean that recently, there has been less people adopting the monthly pets?

i also noticed that and reached a similar conclusion. I was really surprised when nearly all my pets were uncommons from November! I could see it happening with rats, less people adopting them I mean, but the dogs?

It must be less people adopting compared to the overall user population of C$. It would be interesting to know the age demographic of CS, and be able to look at it by new users every year. Was there a burst of users who are all growing out of CS? Or has the ratio of people joining slowed down and the rate of people leaving/abandoning accounts increased?
I have no idea, but the pets are saying that there is some trend of downwards activity. But that also means that less people would be adopting for December 18th, and dead accounts are sitting with valuable pets... I would think that would skew the rarities over time.
(I am not suggesting-- like I've seen many other frustrated users-- CS takes back pets from dead accounts. It is just an interesting idea of how rarities can be changed quickly based on site activity. But we don't know how rarities get truly calculated).
ADDED: It will be interesting to see the rarities for Christmas and Hanukkah.

i must have accidently traded away one of my other

i was lucky enough to complete my pps kittens a while ago,
And it remained my favourite collection as it’s the only one where
I have included list pets. However with this UR I can safely say I
won’t have a complete list and off-list pps collection anymore :c

Yeah, that's what it must mean - that less users are adopting overall. There were less users online at rollover today than there were last year. I'd be interested in going back and making a graph of activity from the Wayback machine, but too much pet IDing to do today haha
Congrats on your bwolf!! It must be such a thrill to only have one left - best of luck finding it!!

I'm a bit conflicted, I want to collect all the CS pets, but I don't know how to start!
I've gotten really attached to some of my pets, and I fear I'll never be able to get
them again, or it just wont be the same, ya know? (I have attachment issues :c)
I do have an UR Fox, but my sister gave it to me and I kind of dont want to trade
it because it's from my sister and... uh, you feel?
Could someone give me some advice on this?

Hey guys, I didn't get very lucky this 18th and I'm dying to do some trading, but the only valuable pets I have are my store pet collection... is it worth the risk trading a few of them do you think? So far I'm considering the clockwork bunny, and maybe some other 2010s, but I'm just not sure. What do you think I should do?
I've quit chicken smoothie.

I mean, that definitely depends on how much your collection means to you. If you feel like you would regret it, maybe only trade away pets from your collection that you know you'd be able to find and trade for again without too much trouble in case you wanted a complete collection again. But if your collection was just a challenge, and some of the pets don't really mean that much to you outside a number, then I'd say go for it and get some pets you'd be more genuinely happy with! :)
