After being on semi-hiatus for a while (that's what I call adopting your pets monthly and not really doing anything else on CS), I revisited a lot of different parts of the forum, and the differences in the activity in each subforum from when I joined to now really hit me. I can't say that the difference was surprising, with more pets and more people expected, but does anybody else get that "back when I was a kid" feeling?

This is probably better explained with examples. These may not apply to everybody, but here are some from my experiences that may be similar:

Do you remember when.....

.....if you got there on time, you could adopt any pet from the pound you wanted?

.....those rares sitting in your collection were once past month's pets from an adoption center?

.....the old Chicken Smoothie layout with Avian and Totoro in the top-left corner (with the old green)?

.....the staff only consisted of Admins, CS Staff and Global Moderators?

.....surviving the "War of CS"?

.....when Sorren Fey, was like, your worst nightmare? (I think that still applies... )


The next ones apply to each of our individual experiences....

.....adopting your first pet?

.....getting a dreamie?

.....your first trade?

.....your first pound pet?

.....meeting your first friends on CS?

.....being completely confused when you saw a custom pet for the first time?



And maybe some not-so-good experiences....

.....finding out you got scammed?

.....begging for a pet in a trade or an auction?

.....being extremely intimidated by everybody who joined in 2008? ( This probably only applies to me, and it still does )

.....your first trade cancelled?

.....having no knowledge of rarities whatsoever?



If anybody has more, they can definetely comment and add on to the list. So, do you remember?

I remember, when I was on this site very first time, I couldn't understand who is so crazy to make 'Butterfly Wolves'. x3 It was December '08. Advent Calendar. In fact, I started to visit this site just because I was wondering, what I'll find in those boxes.
And I remember, when I had all sets of Augusts, Septembers, Octobers, Novembers and Decembers '08. ;_;

I remember when I was a newbie I used to think you stalked me because your name was always listed on the bottom of forums I was viewing xD

I also remember how no one ever adopted the warriors because they were worth next to nothing. Thats how I got over a thousand for practically free. Now people always send huge offers on just single pets out of my warrior hoard :O

I know what it looks like because I had an account before, and absolutely adored adopting Warrior cats. It was fun to make up stories, telling them to myself, clicking on the tab with the Warrior i was talking about c:

I new Chicken Smoothie back then but since there were no accounts, I always lost the links and waiting fro them to grow took SO LONG. ;-; I found around when the coontail pups were up for adoption. I adopted.. maybe one or two puppies then lol.. Then lost the link. ;;

I remember adopting two or three dozen pets, which are now Very Rares, but I never got them added to my account, because I was scared of the forums. XD I remember the first butterfly wolves, and the first horses, which didn't grow because Tess couldn't figure out how to make a good enough foal.

Don't you regret never adding those pets in? I had a line tribal and several others from before but I was scared of forums too ;_; So now they just sit where I put them years ago XD

I remember the very first dogs on CS, when a friend showed me this brand new site she went utterly gaga over because holywow cute adoptable dogs! ...Yes, I was there that long, but it took me several months before she got me to join. XD I remember trying to adopt dogs one at a time through dial up and... giving up halfway through.
