It's a Tier 2 Advent worth 4-5 mixed '09 rares. With some adjustment for further aging, I would say this is still overpay on the top. 2019 store pets are worth a mid-2010 rare, the brown rat is from '08, and the dog is also from '08. All told, that's about 8 '09 rares!

It's not a list pet, so would be traded at mostly face value unless I missed something! Demand would be personal preference, as it's not one of the commonly sought after pets as far as I'm aware. It was originally released in February of 2009.

A 2014 store pet is worth an early '09 rare, a 2017 store pet is worth an early '10 rare, and a 2019 store pet is worth a mid to late '10 rare. Added up, this trade should be fair!

I still find the Trade in this Post a mini-bit Unfair for Poster by about 2x 2014 Xmas Pets..., strictly Rarity-wise... (But compensated by 'Dragon' Species and Number of Pets on the other Side, the Final Trade looked perfect to me, for both Sides, or I've been playing this Game completely wrongly since 5 years, oops...!)

Unless trading pets on the (discontinued) Rares List or certain pets with high demand like Shima Longtails or Zodiacs, here are the general guidelines most users follow:

○ If the pets are the same year, it's 2:1 as you go up the rarity scale

e.g. 2 commons = 1 uncommon, 2 uncommons = 1 rare
Caveat: some users value it as 4 uncommons to 1 rare of the same year
○ If the pets are not the same year but are the same rarity, it's 2:1 for each year in between as you go older

e.g. 2 2019 commons = 1 2018 common
○ If the pets are neither the same year nor the same rarity, both of the above rules need to be applied to calculate the equivalency

e.g. 4 2019 commons = 2 2019 uncommons = 1 2019 uncommon

Store pets are valued differently, and you can find the generally accepted value for them by searching one of the "Is this a fair trade?" threads, which is what I do!

Advice given here is meant to be more empirical. Personal preference like species demand is entirely subjective, and therefore not something we generally do here; that's up to the traders themselves. Most trades not involving high-value pets and items are valued solely on rarity and year alone.

I've always been using 1 UC = 3 Commons, and 1 Rare = 3-4 UC's, after asking maybe 20 "Older" Players since I joined the Game..., so OK, now, everything is 1:2...

Mini-Mistake I think in:

The last part should be "1 1019 Rare" or "1 2018 Uncommon", or again, I don't understand the "Principle" otherwise...!?

But hum, even with that "2:1" Principle, I still find the Trade it all started in this Thread perfectly Fair for both Sides, adding the "Dimension" that I don't know any single Player on CS that will accept 2 UC's for 1 Rare same Date (and same Species) in a Trade, most Players only accept Rare for Rare, yeah, or maybe 2 UC Lions for 1 Rare Rat, hum, not even, that will be 1 UC Lion for 1 Rare Rat...

But OK, the "Rule of Thumb" is thus "everything is 2:1" (approx)... And for a same or mixed Species...
(Good Luck trying to trade 2 UC Rats for 1 Rare Lion, ah-ah...! )

Oops, yes, that should say 1 2018 uncommon!

The math checks out on that trade;

1 2013 uncommon = 2 2014 uncommons = 1 2014 rare
1 2014 uncommon = (2 2015 uncommons)*
6 2015 uncommons + (2 2015 uncommons)* = 4 2015 rares = 8 2016 rares = 16 2017 rares

That's way more than 1 2014 uncommon + 1 2017 rare. It's worth 15 2017 rares more.

I'm not sure where you're frequenting, but this has been common for quite a while. Rarely do people insist on rares for rares and same species for same species, or specific species for other specific species...at least not here. Perhaps usually those people don't bother with this thread because they have their own opinions on what's fair or not. Demand is and should be taken into account, and a lot of people do offer that kind of personal opinion here when they reply, but it's not the driving force behind what makes a trade fair or not, in my experience. It's more of a "technically fair, but I personally wouldn't take it" kind of approach.

I have seen people say that trading the VR or OMGSR rats off for their full value is difficult, and they do caution users who receive those kinds of trades to consider that. But most users seem content to leave the nitpicking to the extremely high value pets.

Yeah uh, personally would not take that. Even though the RBM turned OMGSR in the update, I don't think it would have moved that far up the list to match the nonjewel sundog. The 2018 pets don't really matter much due to the value of the other pets involved; they're worth a tiny fraction of what the OMGSR pets are worth.

I’ve seen the UR Tiger go for a sunjewel and 2 nons. It really is going to depend on what the other player values it at and what you’re willing to pay for it. I’d still say rarity wise it’s unfair to them slightly.

I value it at 6-7.
I would say this trade is reasonable.
