Lilian would be my second guess for the pup (I'm still leaning towards Pluma), but I think that Lilian would make more line edits with hers.

Lilian's staff pet last year (and many of her other pets throughout the years) have all had some very intricate line edits and I expect that her staff pet this year will as well. I'm still thinking that the egg pet is hers for this reason (as well as the intricate style it's drawn in).

I definitely wouldn't rule out this pet as a possibility for Lilian's, however

Just from the art style, I really, really rather think Lilian than Pluma.

Also, the edits can only be visible on the adult, not the pup, I wouldn't rule it out just because Lilian tends to heavily edit the lines usually. After all, we've only seen one staff pet from her... ^^;

Mhmm the style is definitely similar to hers-- especially the colour depth
but so is the egg dog, so I'm torn x'D

While we've only seen one staff pet from her, we've also seen a lottt of holiday pets from her (and random ones) with line edits. I feel like she'd definitely take advantage of the staff pets to do another pet with cool line edits

You're right, though, the line edits might occur in the adult stage still

Looks like a glass bottle/dog with sand or something inside to me.

Be interesting if where the Heart is in cracks, that becomes a hole and the 'sand' pours out of it~

So here's a cleaner breakdown of Lacuna's hints and why I think this is her dog:

My dog is not PPS this year.
I used every color.
I don't like the traditional smile. I'd probably never make a pet with it.
2 x 4 = 8
My pup said he listened to some sick jamz and I called him a hipster because he played the records backwards.

Hmm... maybe Aries knows something

1. It's clearly not a PPS
2. It uses all colours on the blanket in some way.
3. It has a different smile.
4. It has 4 hooves, all with cloven (two-toed) hooves.
5. Aries is a ram and this pet has cloven hooves like a goat/ram/sheep/etc. The devil is heavily associated with goats and you most commonly hear of records being played backwards to hide "evil" messages to influence listeners.

Honestly, when I first saw the pup I thought of the same thing, a bottle filled with sand or some other substance. After seeing the clue, there is a good chance it could be an opal though. Either way, it is an absolutely beautiful pup <3
