this is a story about the kingfisher horses, birds, and eventually team iGuess comes in. Enjoy
(Written for team iGuess)
The light was blinding. It came from everywhere and was all consuming. If i had known about life, i would have said i had died and moved on.
but i did not know life. not yet.
Coming into existence was a hard thing. Most things hatch, grow or are born. But i just came into existence. Like a word that had no time to form.
I would have stumbled if I hadn't been lying down.
Its the hardest feeling, having no past memory, but being perfectly capable of thought.
My vision started to clear like a dissapearing haze.
My first impression of the world was soft. Green as i'd never seen before waved around me, like a smiling crowd.
I was in a clearing, a circle of grass. It was so perfect i may have said some one had placed me here on purpose, and would come back to get me later. But i couldn't rely on that hardly a half hope.
So i stood up on thin wobbly legs, i shakily hastened to me feet. A blue velvet curtain covered the sky, and a thick luscious carpet of flowers and grass at my feet. And i was surrounded by trees (as i grew to affectionately call them)
And i was happy.
I was totally and in-equivalently unawares to where i was, but quiet content.
So i did what I found most natural; i galloped. A completely ungraceful kind of gallop, but it felt right.
And then, with no knowledge of where these presumption came from, i decided i felt it right to open my mouth and....
CHIRP! I stopped galloping. Shaking my head, i allowed my long shaggy black mane to fall into my eyes.
I peeled my lips and tried again. Chirp! Chirp! Chirp!
This time i stomped furiously and startled the few birds that had landed in a nearby tree.
Chirp! chirp! chirp! Chirp! Chirp! Chirp! chirp! chirp! Chirp! Chirp! Chirp! chirp! chirp! Chirp! Chirp!
By now a large group of birds had silently gathered in the trees around me. All the many different colored beaks pointed in my direction.
I fell silent.
So an abrupt commotion of squawks came up from the birds... and i could understand it. Every. Single. Word.
"What is this?" One large Robbin cried
"A horse." Said another plainly
But a small sparrow spoke up "Why it sounds just like on of us!"
Sudden as they had come, the tumble of words stopped as a medium sized, full chested bird hopped out onto a branch.
It was a kingfisher, wearing a tiny glittering crown that showed he was obviously their leader.
