Seasonal’s logic is very flawed based on not only was there any or enough people who wanted to help with the list but could only get to a point of “agreeing with what was said by the elite.” You can see this in the old thread. But also couldn’t really suggest more since it was always shut down. However the main reason it’s flawed is that... this ain’t 2010 anymore. Things have changed and we’re head deep into cancel culture.
It’s 2019. The rares list is dead. The rares list lives in locked solitude as a historical landmark now to show future users what not to do, otherwise you will see how badly the community can turn on you. You don’t see the users who were mainly pro list active in helping cs users anymore because of the backlash. Many left due to the pressure.
This will happen again if the same history is repeated.
I think no decision of any pet placement should be made until a option hits 100 votes (aka you need 85 more votes in the winning vote to be able to move on). In any guide. Users should be able to make many guides if they so desire, but the community should also decide whether they decide to support a guide going forward or not. There is no reason that a guide someone makes should be there to be used if there is no one / minimal people supporting it. This is where I believe a line should be for this guide mess we are in. If there is minimal votes accumulated, then these guides are not wanted by the community.
To me, if you publish a guide publicly and not for self use, it should then be allowed maximum participation by the community. No ifs or buts. So that means that there needs to be a chance for a guide to hit 100 participation votes in an option (note: not total) before moving on.
I'm not saying that 34 people or whatever the number is the ideal number of votes, but if you but a quota on the number of votes necessary, it will be very difficult for any guide to ever gain a following. As people were saying, nobody is requiring you to use this list. It is obvious to anybody who sees this list that it is currently rather small. It is up to their discretion if they want to use it based on what they see. Obviously at this point, this guide is not particularly useful to anyone. Limiting it in it's early stages will not be beneficial. Eventually, this guide will either gain support or not. Either way, it is only impacting those who choose to let it impact them. Especially at this point, there is no precedent for the value of each pet. Whatever tier it goes on is about the same right now because there is no baseline. The values at this point are just a basic idea so if the guide gains popularity, there will be a few pets to go off of.
