How do YOU devide CS pet genders?

Not sure, mostly looks I guess, any with a darker fur color above the eyes is automatically a girl for me cause I think it looks a bit like eye shadow. and most of the times my gray ones are boys, unless I find a girl name I really like and all my other pups already have good names, blah blah blah.

I'm going to stop naming until they at least get out of their blankets, if not full-grown, because once I get a good look at 'em I realize sometimes they're a different gender than I thought! I just go with whatever "feels" right, but somehow it seems to work out that darker colors = boys and lighter colors = girls. But not always. It has to do with...I don't know what, exactly...but there's more to it than just light vs dark.

I just go with whatever I think suits it usually, altho sometimes if I change my mind that can be slightly confusing for the poor lil fella (or not as the case may be)

I just stare at it for a bit till my imagination finds personality in its eyes. Then I decide. It looks like a male or it looks like a female. XD Sometimes I'll have too that look exactly the same, and people ask me how I can tell them apart, and I'll be like, "Look at the eyes! Can't you see all the girlyness" or what ever, and they will look at me like I'm a complete psycho. XD Might be, who knows.

I name them within a day or so of getting them, so the name really decides. Whenever I get a name that sounds like it could go either way I'll pick a gender at random.

For me it's what the pet looks like. If it looks girly, it's a girl, if it looks boyish, a boy. And if it's hard to tell, it's just what I first call it. "He's a cutey" "She's a cutey"

Most of my CS dogs are female, mainly because the dog lineart has a feminine touch to it.

I agree, I see most of my dogs as either girls or gay/bisexual males. There are only a few wolves that I have who I think look masculine in some way or another, like the purple dragon wolf I can't see it as a 'she' but only as a 'he'.
Also by staring at them XD I love to write so I look at the design, eyes and general message its giving off in order to pick a name and gender, my mind picks a short story for them in the end and that cements their gender. If I can't decide on a gender then I give the wolf the gift of having both gender signs in its name

I base it off of what the adult looks like. And if there is an outcome where I can't tell, I keep two and have one of each gender. It works for me.

I just look at them, and whatever gender calls to me, they are ^^ that was corny..
