What do you hoard?
I have three hoards: Spiders (all of them), Kelpies, and this year's CNY serpent dogs. <3

Why do you hoard them?
The Spiders simply because I think they are both underloved, adorable, and they make a great army for when I conquer the world someday. (I have over 2000 of them. AAHHAHAH!) The Kelpies are just... one of my favourite legends was that of the Kelpie. I'm planning on including some white ponies in with the Kelpie hoard, in tribute to the original old legend. And the serpent dogs are just stunning, plain and simple.

How large is your hoard?
~2000, 5 and 28

What is your goal for the hoard?
They're all unending hoards.

Do you overpay for hoard pets/items?
Haven't had to yet, but I might, especially for the serpent dogs.

What was the first pet/item in your hoard?
Oh man, I have no idea. xD Most of them were started from my original adopts, and there were several at a time.

Why do you hoard them?

Oh, I have various reasons for each hoard.
For the Frosted Window PPS, they symbolize my love for fancy, unique bottles. Hehe, I keep all my empty perfume bottles because they look pretty, and I figured... hey, why not do the same here?

The Pupcake PPS is basically because... I like cake. Nothing too deep or significant there.

I started collecting the Cu Sith dogs not too long ago, because I adore Scottish folklore. Pshh, who wouldn't love a hound that can kill people by howling three times? Sounds pretty radical to me.

The CNY Cobra Dog is one of my newest hoards. I just love reptiles, so these guys were really a "love at first sight" kinda thing. I had to have all of them.

Same thing with the Dragon Dogs- I really just find their reptilian look to be just irresistible.

For the chocolate mice... the reasoning kind of ties in with the Pupcake PPS. I like sweets, and this is the only way I can have as many as I want without gaining a single calorie.

As for the items, I'm trying to amass a "Vikings in Love" themed army.
Because my How to Train Your Dragon obsession is ridiculously unnatural.

What is your goal for the hoard?

I suppose I really don't have a set goal. I think I'll just continue building my hoards until I find them big enough.

Do you overpay for hoard pets/items?
I try to.
I don't have anything else to really aim for at the moment, so overpaying for hoards is fine with me.

What was the first pet/item in your hoard?

Well, I'm not sure where he is exactly, but when I managed to snag one of the Cu Sith dogs from the Halloween banner, he really kick-started my passion for hoarding.

And my first hoard items were actually the Viking Costume sets on Halloween. Just slapped 'em on this adorable man and called it good!

The bacon dogs, haha. Pretty lame horde, I know.

Why do you hoard them?

I really like bacon, and I couldn't really decide on a pet to horde. Then, one morning I was eating bacon, and remembered how often I saw the bacon dogs just put up for free adoption, and went, "hey! You know what! Bacon dogs need love!" So there you have it.

How large is your hoard?

As of right now, 2 pets, but I hope it'll grow.

What is your goal for the hoard?

100 bacon dogs, If I reach that, I think I might start upping my goal 25 at a time.

Do you overpay for hoard pets/items?

I haven't had to, yet. But I'll gladly do so if I'm offered them in bulk, haha

Okay, major dilemma time!

Should I Name All Of My Staff Puppies? I have 2000 and something and I don't know! It's such a major dilemma that I've made a poll for it on my auction thread and trade thread

Oh wow xD It really depends on what you want to name them with (ie: how easy/difficult it is to think of names) and just how much time you have on your hands. And of course, it also depends on if you want to get it all done in one day (... I hope not, for your sanity ) or if you're fine with just chugging through slowly over the course of a long time :3

I'm thinking of just random names...
Bob.
Lucy.
Hannah.
Cheese.
Ect c;

Doing it in one day might uh- kill me? Or maybe just kill my sanity xD
I kinda want to but I don't know if I can be bothered! Urgh, maybe ill just tell someone to say yes or no and depending on the answer is what I'll do.

Hmmmm...
If you name 2000 pets in 10 hours, then that's:
200 pets in 1 hour aka 60 minutes
20 pets in 6 minutes
10 pets in 3 minutes aka 180 seconds
1 pet every 18 seconds
... that's actually not as bad as I thought it would be. XD If you devote a full 10 hours to naming your pets and keep up the pace, you could potentially do it in one day, haha XD (and you use the other 14 hours of the day to sleep, eat, drink, and go to the bathroom XD)

I named all the pets in my Chinese New Year hoard up until about 3000 or so. Then it just got to be too much. I would open around 20 pets on different tabs and name in bunches. Took forever.

Wow thanks for your opinions guys! I'm thinking that once I've broken the record for having the biggest litter from 2012, ill start naming them! Wish me luck xD

i hoard christmas pets, and have done for about a year now.
so far we're at 3,673 and i'm trying to get the record for the biggest holiday pet hoard, although a certain xiao_jian happens to be ahead of us ;D... (hi btw, and congrats on reaching almost 7,000 cny pets!)
to get all the pets in it, i usually send trades or hunt around the cs free adoption boards, as christmas pets aren't worth that much and tend to be going for free. i can't remember the first pet in the hoard, since i had all my advents in one group and just decided to add more and more in until it expanded.
i don't really name the pets, nor dress them up, although there's a couple in there that are. ^_^

{:: I hoard sets of ten of every pet I really like. =) So far I have Rudolph PPS (complete), Scottish Fold PPS, Valentine's Rats, and probably Valentine's Winged Dogs. When there is a new species for adopts I will most likely hoard those too ^-^
