Holly _ Scott
Part Two _ Boxing Day [continuing from earlier]
"Holly!"
"What?"
"The paper-chain!" Scott felt horrified. For he had noticed what Holly had not - thick, feathery webs of white were beginning to swirl from the sky. Holly had insisted they take the darn thing outside - she still wasn't telling him where they would hang the monstrous snake - when he'd noticed that some moist spots of sugar paper were beginning to... dissolve.
"Holy..." Holly trailed off, her green eyes widening momentarily, before flashing along the length of paper rings.
"What should we do?" Scott panicked, trying to yank some of the paperchain inside, but it was too long and too big a proportion of it was now outside, curled in the garden, like a snake biding its time.
"Scott."
"We could take it inside, with you at the front and me at the back and then - oh, but that wouldn't work..."
"Scott." Through the sudden storm of snow, Holly smiled and shook her head. "It's too late." The snow continued to fall thickly and heavily, a sheet of crystal-white flakes. Scott blinked as a huge, icy piece landed on his nose and some snow found its way down the back of his black-and-grey-striped jacket.
"But -" Scott began desperately, looking around through the haze of white, his eyes almost brimming at the sight of six years hard work, melting in the wet.
"It doesn't matter so much." Holly said softly in the silent, white garden. "I think multi-coloured snow is worth it, don't you?" Scott gave her a watery smile, admiring the way the white specks were scattered through her sleek green locks.
"I s'pose you're right." Scott agreed, looking up at the smothering white sky.
"Like usual." Holly added, raising her head to the skies, too. Boxing day was almost over, the end of their stay together. Another whole year until they'd meet again... Scott turned his head slightly and saw Holly looking at him through the corner of his eye.
Should I say something? Say how much I want to stay here for another year? Say how much I like her?
"Scott! Dinner! And come and pack your bags, don't just dump everything on your bed." His mother was leaning out of next door's window, swatting away the snow as if it were killer bees, not frozen water.
"All right, all right, keep your hair on, mum. I'm coming."
"Wow. Another year, gone." Scott looked up at his Grandmother as she leaned on his door frame heavily, a slight smile on her wrinkled face.
"Yep." Scott gave her a weak grin, stuffing some socks into his suitcase.
"I fear this may be your last year here, too."
"W-what?" Scott's head snapped up quickly, his face creased with concern as he looked into the old woman's aging face.
"Scott, I'm getting old. And out here, it's lonely, and there's no people for many miles." His grandmother replied, shaking her withered face.
"There's Holly! And her parents!" Scott protested, dropping a pair of socks onto his bed. His face felt flushed.
"That's not what I meant, Scott." Scott's grandmother replied gently. "If I take a fall, there's no one to tend me. If I become ill, there's no one to treat me."
"But -" Scott began desperately, gripping his bedpsost with white-knuckled hands. "But -"
"Scott." His grandmother shook her head, and then motioned to Holly's house. "Go and tell her. If it's your last year here, she'll want to know." Scott's head dropped and he closed his eyes. Holly would want to know, but that wouldn't make it any easier telling her.
probably not going to be around much, but if you see this signature, I hope you're having a great day and hang in there, you can do this xx

"Holly?" His soft voice murmured quietly, his face glistened orange from the street lights. I was no where to be found. Damen wandered around this city for days on end, looking for me desperately. No where. He called my name anxiously, hoping to find me one day and reunite with his beloved.
One day, Damen found a note in a river, stapled to my dead, lifeless body. He ripped it off immediately and started bawling as the note read,
"Am I really so beloved to you, Damen? Then I have one question.
Why did you hurt me?
-Holly"

would anyone like to hear this from the beginning?

"No. I'm done."
Phantom smirked, crossing his arms across his chest. "Aw, babe, I find it cute how you think you can lie to me." he said almost mockingly, watching me pack my things.
"I'm serious this time." I said, matching his pose as I turned to look at him. "I can't do it anymore. I'm tired of it. I'm tired of you."
"You can't leave." he said. It wasn't him begging me to stay. It was him stating a fact.
I dropped my suitcase, sighing as I sat down. He sat beside me and opened his arms as if for a hug, but I shoved him away roughly as I spoke solemnly.
"I know."

Is this a dream or is this real?
If it's fake, then what do I feel?
With you it's pain, I hurt and I grieve
But we both know that I could never leave
"This is how our lives always went. Phantom would hurt me, I would become angry, and I would threaten to leave. He would remind me that it was impossible, I would realize for the millionth time that he's right, and I'd end up pathetically crawling back to him. It was a cycle that had never been broken.
I love him. That is why I can't leave him. The bond is too strong. He's the only one that understands me on this deep of a level. He's always telling me that he loves me back, but I can't let my guard down around him. Unless the phrase, 'you only hurt the one you love' is true, he's the liar I've always believed him to be.
But I can't help it. Can't stop it. It's something mental as well as physical, something that's implanted and engraved into my heart and my mind. How do you push something away that's a part of you?" I glanced around, sighing. "He'll be home soon, so I guess this is the end of video log number eighty-five. Drew Danic, over and out." I finished, closing up the video camera and setting it down.
Video log eighty-five. I had been making these since I met Phantom, and I usually made them right after he hurted me, whether it be emotionally or physically. I was tough, though. He was strong, but after the incident, he had learned that he can't push me around without harm coming to him.
The incident made me believe that the cycle had ended. It made me believe that I had killed him, as I stare at his cold, lifeless body. But suddenly those eyes flicked open and a grin lighted up his face...
And I knew that he is an immortal.
Nothing can kill him. I don't know what exact creature he is, but he is immortal. No, he's not a vampire. This I am sure of. Besides, can wolves even come as vampires? I had a suspicion that he was a werewolf, but I have never seen him in any type of human form. And now I have a new idea - Perhaps he is a shapeshifter. I have noticed some odd things. Other animals will look at him as if they can understand him, he'll disappear behind a corner and a cat'll come trotting out with him nowhere in sight. Just little things like that.
But any idea was enough for me. I didn't know how, but today I was determined to find the truth. He was due home in five or so minutes, and I would study him closely. Then, once he left, my real search would begin.
