They're not connected that way. The GUPPS is just another pet that looks like the PPS, it was released along with the other GUPPS

This turned ... quite a long, long, long time ago?! I even remember it was mentioned here and I had problems finding the right rare outcome, because I always mixed it up with it's littermate.
