Yea, but once again... The list is made by a couple of users, who work on the list, edit it and stuff - that takes a lot of time and is always not the current real value.
We really should think of something else. Something, which is provable correct, since calculated from data set -> And there only the rarity is given... (I understand that including some new techniques here might be just more than we need, but I tend to have a perfect solution for an issue

)
And even if we had just one rarity step more included that would help people a lot to understand the real value of their rarer pets.. Like:
OMG so rare, very very rare, very rare, rare, etc...

The PPS lion is a pretty good example. That is one of the pets, which gets the most discussion here since this pet has been released, BUT sometimes PPS lions will get traded away for a pretty good offer, most of these trades are just fair or at least demand-based fair. But that's what all trades are. No one will offer 4 sun jewels for a PPS lions, even in case of a very high overpay. The PPS lions might get a better place, then it has currently (no list pet), but won't be better then the most list pets, since not really many people trade list pets away for a PPS lion... Also some list pets are absolutely out-dated and the value is calculated way too high for it's current real value (best example here are the Grinners)
I understand completely about the Grinnner thing. When I entered a contest for this Grinner, I had heard much about them. They seemed very rare, but now they seem to be mixed in with dirt in terms of rarity and demand. I once asked for a low advent in exchange for my Grinner, and the player mentioned something about horrible demand, and lower rarity. So it might help to move the Grinners down, but I personally hope they don't because that is my one out of two list pets. But my opinion matters, but very little, considering all of the players here on CS. It would make sense to drop the Grinners below the Red Cerberus and Drink Me, because of their demand. But maybe they will just stay put.

the VVR could easily be confused with VR, so maybe something like Super rare would be better
SV is less likly to be seen as a typo then VVR

This issue could also be fixed with a new rarity step, because I guess the Grinners have a pretty high rarity... So if splitting up very rare in very very rare and very rare, the Grinner might get the very very rare rarity - And the new, higher rarity, should also raise the value and the demand of the pet... The rarity is still the most important thing of a pet. If a pet looks nice, but is common is like worthless, but a very rare rat or spider still has a high value, even if the player does not like rats or spiders.. Rarity really matters!
Edit: Still some comment to be added here: If a pet has a high demand, the pets will be hoarded like hell at CS and this means the rarity will increase... So demand might also be included in the rarity (indirectly)...

Guys, i think this is getting a little out of hand. We do not control the rarity tags. We do not have the information to say which and which pet is actually rarer then the other. The list shows what things have been traded for, are still being traded for. Not what they are 100% worth.
If you want more rarity tags to be added, please use the search function and if nothing comes up, make a post in the suggestions, problems and help forums, or send a help ticket to the admin's. I don't think another tag is needed and it would just confuse things. Either way, i think the discussion went out of the topic 'rareslist' now and onto something else, so please continue it either in pm or somewhere else ^.^

Something I'm concerned with regarding the topic of all this discussion:
People often overpay because they see others overpaying, and they underpay because they see others underpaying. And a lot of people tend to reapply demand to the Rares List, thus creating a really ridiculous chain reaction.
If this algorithm thingy went through (you're blowing my mind with what you're talking about lol), then people would see that black advents were going for toxics and they'd consider that a "normal" value... so they'd reapply demand and decide to start paying sorbets, and then when the algorithm thingy is run again, they'd see that the sorbets are the "normal" value... and so eventually black advents will go for 4 sunjewels because "IT'S A GREAT IDEA TO REAPPLY DEMAND TO THE LIST EVEN THOUGH IT SAYS DEMAND IS ALREADY ACCOUNETD FOR 8DDDDDD" The reapply-demand issue is already prominent with this list; if users saw an algorithm-based list, they would immediately assume that it's rarity-based, not rarity-and-demand-based (because it's using algorithms!! it must be entirely technical rarity!!!!), so... well... yeah...
ninja'd x2 but I wanted to get my two cents in.
Was your pet adopted December 18, any year, or December 24, 2011? It is most likely an older pet! CLICK ME to identify your pet!

I don't see that this is pretty much off-topic because we are still talking about rarity of pets and the need of a rarity list. Furthermore stopping the conversation NOW might cut off a pretty good idea or change in CS, which could be requested by a lot of other people here, too. We really should talk to Nick and Tess about the idea of a new rarity tag, because not only me, also others (see posts below) gave positive feedback on this idea - especially when it comes to one of the pets, that may cause problems with the rarity list, like the PPS Lion or the Grinner... A new rarity tag COULD fix this as well, but we will see...
Is there any way to have a more official conversation keep going on any suggestions part of CS? Something, which could be observed by an official (Tess, Nick) somehow?!
