Staff Litter Discussion Thread

Hey guys. A question to the current detectives on duty.

I was reading Atwoods 5 hints and am still trying to decode 4 of them. Those are

Metro
Birchii
Yes, Virginia
Still at the start.

Now the only thing I gather atm from a google search revealed Drosophila Birchii. Looks like a fruit fly with red eyes but need to dig further. My phone doesn't run certain sites so I am unsure if this is the right clue. I am going to dig up plants from the birch family now to see if any bear fruit.

Yes, Virginia aludes to christmas theme. So Red and Green are prominent. Not sure if anything else is relevant.

Still at the start.... No idea. Sounds like a song lyric but searches yielded nothing so far.

Metro... Same deal, no cigar.

So I need some help with anything you guys have found or already know about this.

Some other bits of info that may be important.

Atwood took the grapevine item as purple grape colored eyes. But its possible for green grapes if applied differently.

Atwood mentions another clue in her linked post. The clue I found is "There are five clues just ripe for the picking. Suggesting ripe grapes or possibly other fruit that can be picked.

Another of Atwoods posts when commenting about the clues says "you'd best be served" which suggests some sort of dish. The other clues might be other things on the dish?

Thinking about it now, the 5 clues may be 5 food items on the dish. Maybe the pup will look like a plate?

I think the "still at the start" might just be how far along we are in solving them, because Atwood said the list was for (his) handy reference on what stage we were on at solving his hints.

I think the problem with people coming up with lists is that there isn't a great deal of people online/on this thread at this hour. At least not those who are right into hint searching

We ruled that out a while ago, although I admit that I don't quite understand this string of logic.

I would love to see the train of thought that ruled this one out
Not saying I'd disagree, but we just had a hard time even making a list of 5, in fact we failed, which if we put this one on, we would have had enough.
I tried looking for the post but didn't find it, perhaps I didn't go far enough back, I don't know

Really, I wouldn't fully rule out any pet unless denied by the artist xD because you never know

The two pups that I think could be Pluma's are already on the list. I'm almost sure it's the storm pup though because the leaf necklace pup isn't named and she said her pup was named after the goddess she chose. The storm pup's name is Rán and Google images confirms a lot. There's a picture of Rán and a guy with a peacock hood like the 2013 pup. And she's seen in storms because she's the ocean goddess...

Makes no sense to me, but I'm not the best at following logic sometimes.

Thank you for quoting it, I'd missed that post, must have just over looked it when I used the search. As for when it was posted, honestly I was probably in bed, like right now its 2am here.

Alright, lets see.

So they ruled out the Pup because Pluma hasn't named it
Pluma has a 'My Precious Darlings' group where they have the following



Named after Gods/Goddesses:

Tyr, Hades, Hephaestus
Gaea, Athena, Rán
Hestia, Frey

They use to have another 3 in there with Egyptian Names, which have since been removed after Pluma said their Pet isn't based on an Egyptian God/Goddess. So, I assume people are taking the pets in the group as hint, that Pluma owns one of them. So they ruled out what isn't in there, the pup with the necklace.

The Pets Pluma also just denied, none of them are from that group. Which means, people may be right, that this group of pups is who we should be looking at.
Or Pluma is majorly misleading us.
