I think tonights kitty has a strong chance of being yours. Bear with me here.

1. Your clues have mentioned "non-existent" and "dissapears"

2. You have mentioned "I like colors" and "did you know you can do really neat things with colors?"

3. Lastly you say "there is one fruit that beats them all"

The first clues suggests ghost like capabilities. This historically has been done with the use of see through colors. So something alters the cat to be either dead or not quite solid anymore. Hence the subtle tears in the eyes.

Second is mention of colors and the liking of colors. The kitty is carrying a rather colorful jar of liquid. The liquid may be what inadvertently shifts the cat into a ghost like form. The tube suggests a science experiment. Possibly one gone wrong.

Third is the fruit. I was originally looking for a fruit that matched the liquid in the capsule. But perhaps I should have been looking for another color. Blue. What matches blue perfectly? Blueberries of course! And what is blue? Mostly the ends of the capsule and the kitty's nose!
