Probably my favorite. Though I'm sure I'll change my mind later on lol.

I have a feeling these were unused summer event aliens.

Don't know why, they just have an exotic alien feel to them. Lol

That was my first thought as well, but the more I look at them the more I realize - this was CARNIVALE!

These are the 'missing' Mardi Gras pets (not really missing, the event is rarely noted here, and that's understandable, it's a bit of a mystery to many folks who don't celebrate)

But look again, they're wearing what men wear in the Mardi Gras Parade!

NOTE, if you google "rio mardi gras costumes for men" you WILL see what I mean...however...umm...they might not be completely safe for work. Nothing SHOWS, but NOT MUCH IS COVERED.

Does anyone know the inspiration for the Store Lions?
Someone said Norse Gods, I have also seen alien a few times; personally I thought Las Vegas for some reason.

Lilian Nightshade, the artist, has said it is from Carnival.

It's a mix between a Carnivale costume and aliens, imo.
They're stunning. Just perfect.
And so it happened ... I got weak, and after the Corgis the Pink Lions are the first store pets I hoard again.
I ended up buying 6 sets, whooooooops.

Hey is it just me, or is there not nearly as much hype about these new store pets as the last ones ^^?

I think it's possibly because they came out on a weekday, whereas I'm pretty sure the last ones came out on a weekend. A lot of people wouldn't even know they exist yet. The last ones also weren't released in the middle of a big event.

Has anyone noticed how gorgeous they look against a dark background? They truly are carnival lions - they shine brighter at night

I only have a single newborn of that litter left, so yeah^^ I got 4 of this one and 3 of the darker one. Given the litter size I'm suspecting they'll split.
