my theory of bananas..
they were trying out to be an artist in 2008, (but didn't become an artist due to inactivity) and Tess decided to use old forgotten created pets this month as a sort of good bye to all those retiring.

i based this purely on the fact Tyr said that his dog from this month was one of the first her created back in 2008.

so this month is like a throw back to the past

I think this sounds reasonable.

What a lot of CS users don't know is that some of these designs were created a year or two ago. I think they all just get put into a file and then Tess decides when to release them. Like an artist could create something for Christmas, and it could be released in July of next year. Just a thought, since I've seen many artists commenting on how long it's been since they made that design.

That makes a lot of sense.

Am I the only one overly, ecstatically happy we got a ton of lions? Sure, they're really common, but.. gahhh! They're so adorable! There's part of me that doesn't want them to grow up, but I do really want to see an adult stage. [Or multiple, if that's the case.]

I feel a small sense of accomplishment, too, since I missed both the July and August lions. I know it might be kind of dumb, but these guys have made me way too happy. xD

I had to adopt almost an entire day late because I was at a party, which I'm not too happy about, but I'll live.

i'm very happy about them as well....i love the lions so it's awesome to get some (especially since they don't cost an arm and a leg this time )

There's a problem in your 'facts'...
Tyr joined May 2009 and didn't join as staff until late 2009. Tyr never said her dogs were done in 2008 so I have no idea where everybody is getting this information. What she said was:

These were actually my very first pets that I ever created for CS when I was hired as an artist.

Part two - these ponies are designed on Yulynh's pony lines which were not available in 2008! They were available since late 2011.

Also, there have never been 'try outs' to be an artist. Either you are invited or you are not. Sorry.

And last, once a staff member retires/leaves/etc, their designs are not used anymore. And before you guys start in about Malk retiring and there are still Owls and Spiders out this month - neither were designed by Malk. The last Malk designs were February's Spiders and March's Owls.

Now, to those who are thinking "Tess is lying" about the lions... seriously, what motive does she have to lie? She said no rare lions and what I can see, I got 5 lions and 1 cat. No rare lions; just an uncommon cat it seems. XD

I think it's hilarious that Tess put that there, especially after all the complaining about the extra rare lions. Welp, now everyone has a lion!

Am I the only one who thinks that rare cats is worse then rare lions? Cats/kittens are one of my favorite things on the site. I got none of this months. :c

The ?! dog might be some kind of punctuation thing xPP I see ##$% dogs and !@& dogs in the near future...

I got 5 lions and one cat... wonder if the cat's rarer.
