As i said before, i personally dont think redoing the list will be any faster then going off what we have. Also, most of the list isnt out of place. Yes, al those new omg so rares are, but are all the very rares? Redoing would, in my opinion, just mean that those pets will be placed in the exact same spots.. they got placed with the same data afterall.


In order to get a poll going, what do we need to discuss? Which tiers to merge orso?

Agreed. We need to focus on moving the OMGSR and merging tiers.

It seems like there is a decent amount of community support for redoing the list. If the list is based on community input and polls, then the organizers of the guide cannot ignore that sentiment even if they think it would be easier/similarly complicated or if they personally do not want to vote for that option in the poll. I would suggest the first poll be something along the lines of asking if the list should be completely redone or if the current structure should be retained.

i back this 100% once we can get a clear answer then we can decide if the list should be completely redone or just fixed up because of the new rarites, and polls seems like the best way to start for now.

I’m for redoing the list. Truth it’s only becoming more irrelevant and makes trading more difficult.

I think redoing the list might also be a good idea. The current situation of placing pets based off of a broken system only leads to more confusion and frustration. its like slapping a bandaid on a heart attack victim, we need to address the root of the problem or else it will just continue to get worse.

I am going to have to agree with this, Redoing the list seems to be the only solution. The current one just causes argument, and there is so much to fix it's probably a better idea to just restart completely.

What is the fear with redoing it? This list is old and outdated and wrong. The rarity list is going to take a lot of time, I understand before the argument was "Well the list IS being redone" but that list is probably going to take years yet. And every year it takes, a new dec 18th comes around and adds more to count. And at what point do you have to say "Let's stop counting these."?? Because there would be no choice but to eventually stop counting. Which leads to the same problem, being outdated.

I know that ultimately no list will be perfect, but I am in huge support of a new list entirely.

As far as the current list, discussion on changing anything takes so long and so much arguing that are you really listening to the voice of the community as was wanted? It seems like the same few arguing and on occasion listening to someone else.

Ive seen just as many people saying no to redoing the list as people saying yes. Regardless, if anyone wants to have it polled, we can have it polled. My biggest questions however are: how do you propose the list is to be redone? With what evidence, with what data and how long do you estimate it to take? Keeping in mind we are not creating a rarity only list because we cant possible (there is not enough evidence without actually counting the pets.) so we have to include at least some form of demand. What do you think will change?

I ask this, because time and again people suggest things and simply move on once a poll has been made and voted on. If we run a poll on this, we need to give as much information as possible as to what either option would mean and whos gonna be putting in all the work of doing anything. Because if in the end people vote for a redo, yet nobody wants to redo it, then what is going to be done? If the active people on this thread dont want to redo it then they have that right, the right to not participate.


I am all for community input, i say run a poll for everything and repointing the finger back at 'the people running the thread' is still a bit of an easy excuse. Nobody is saying not to run a poll, we are expressing our opinions just like others are. Just because our opinion differs doesnt mean we are against running a poll. Its always easiest to say the people active on this thread are responsible for it all but this is a comunity project and anyone who posts and votes on polls here has the same responisbily with the list in my eyes.

Everyone here has very valid points for either wanting to redo the list, or just fix parts of it. In my opinion, I agree with DaDwarf. There’s a lot of pets that should be moved/ readdressed, but there’s also a good amount that like previously stated, will end up being placed in the exact same spots.

Maybe instead of redoing the entire list at once, starting with chunks of it? Addressing the main list and working our way down? That way users can still have some idea of where to be valuing some of their pers while others are being readdressed.

Redoing the entire thing at once (to me) would cause a lot more problems and take a very long time, compared to going little by little.

I believe a poll on the matter would be very useful like everyone else has stated, as it looks like there’s a lot of users supporting either side. That way everyone has a say on the matter, since it’s clearly going to be a very big change no matter what.

I personally don’t see the point in redoing the whole list
The community can say whatever they want but who’s going to participate? Who’s going to voice their ideas and opinions knowing they may be accepted or shut down?
It’s a huge job and that’s what a lot of people aren’t considering. I posted a main list using the data of rarity changes and people told be it was outdated, inaccurate and not realistic even tho there is no reason for the Sunjewel to be at the top of the list like everyone else was putting. My ideas that had even a sliver of proof were completely ignored, and I have to deal with that
It’s too much work, too many different ideas, it’d take months if not over a year to remake the list. Not to mention if only 8-15 users participate in making it, we’ll just be ‘the elites’ who made the list again since people are too afraid to say things or not enough people say the same things

Basically, I don’t think it’s the best idea because it’ll cause more problems than solutions. The list can be fixed and will be but small steps would be better starting with grouping tiers, moving the ur bulk and continuing with the below gap urs

If we redo the list, I'm pretty sure what will happen is that most of the main list below the gap, september list and advent list will maintain its integrity. I feel like the main things that need to change are;
1. A large change to the above gap part of the list, merging tiers and adding all new OMG so rares.
2. Moving up the non-OMG so rare store pets e.g. green liontail and drink me.
3. Adding all the pets that turned very rare at the same time as list pets but weren't added.
And I think all these changes could be done while preserving the framework of the list. After all, I don't think most people want the whole list redone, just these portions.
