Very radiant! Even without the HK reference, I really like this design.The face pattern and ears are super cute.

You can see some dreamy dots on a black background, too! Very fun.

I feel like this doggo's supposed to have a vessel companion but I'm pretty sure that's Markoth. raey he's one of the my least favorite bosses in the game and I'm not looking forward to fighting him again why is he here please enlighten me .0.

That game is Hollow Knight! It's a really great indie title that came out last February or so.
The friend in question (I'm guessing) was inspired by this character from that game:

If everything is ZEL then I’m pretty sure I know that this pup, too, is ZEL. There is no confusion to be had about the fact that everything is ZEL.

You guys kill me. It's a complete mystery to me how you still can ask for a confession when I literally confessed ages ago already lol

There technically also is a story behind my dog...but to be honest I had neither the motivation nor the time to actually write it down so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

However I can tell you that my dog's name is Kaara and her spirit companion (you call him Vessel Friend) is called Arteios.

And as guess right, the little one is my personal homage to Hollow Knight. A game I learned to love and hate (everyone who played it knows what I mean). Ori and the Blind Forest has been the game that really got me into gaming. And when Jayfrost and Swiftalu forced me to start Hollow Knight because of my undying love for Ori, I first was a bit insecure but it took me not even five minutes to fall in love with the game. I am not even done yet, just because I personally love just running around the world of Hollow Nest, without actually doing what I should do (like certain boss fights lol). But yes, this game has touched me in a lot a ways. Not only the graphics but the music and the way of story telling in this game have left a deep impression on me so I wanted to pay this game a tribute.
The little spirit companion/vessel friend is however not based on a specific character, but more inspired by some unspecific elements of the different characters you meet in Hollow Knight.

I'm so delighted to hop on here and read about the explanation behind this pup! I was super exhausted from a party last night and barely had time to really register the growths, but I remember seeing the staff dog and vaguely thinking "that cute little companion reminds me of hollow knight" before drifting into a nap :'D
Knowing that it was intentional is so cool!
