To me, this pup:

Reminds me of mosaics like these but with larger pieces and not of a plush, since it does look very smooth and not fluffy

Euth's pup from last year...also mostly orange. Only thing they seem to have in common

I'm wondering if what this years pet has in common wish last, is a design/visible feature, or perhaps the inspiration.. Like, Karoola, last years pet, is based on the Australian Mythological Bunyip, a Cryptid. So perhaps this years is simply another Cryptid, An Australian Cryptid or a Bunyip like Cryptid but not necessarily Australian...

It is also very possible I think way too much into things.. xDD Could simply mean it has Line Edits, Black/Solid coloured eyes, or is mostly one colour like your suggested

^Me thinking about horses and only horses means I found a few words with horse in them. Like horseradish, horse hair etc etc. But I don't think that's it....
its called being obsessed with horses okay?
