"The" Rares List Guide - Do not ask about new UR's!

I do have to say the very first re-release took me three weeks to catalog and that was going through each ID number one by one. The one in 2009 took me nearly two months- some days it was almost non stop looking. I'm not about to guess how long the recent years would take.

Is it possible to add a little more clarity on the value of the pets maybe using the same token to figure them out?

For instance, DaDwarf just said the Coontail was worth 2 nons. And everyone knows the non's are worth 3 sorbets each. Therefore the Coontail is worth 6 sorbets, right? But I've also been told by other trading experts that the July PPS is worth 5 sorbets yet is higher than the coontail. I've also been told the UR Cucumber is worth 2 nons and 2 more sorbets (which translates to 8 sorbets assuming we traded the nons for 3 each sorbets each). But I don't think the gap between the July PPS and the UR banana is a non, correct?

EDIT: While discussing gaps, what is the difference between a sorbet and a spotted tribal? There's been a lot of debate for this as well. Someone I encountered said that a Spotted Tribal + a Blue Toxic alone would be enough for a nonjewel; when the blue toxic is worth less than the green sorbet and the nonjewel is worth more than 3 sorbets so I'm wondering how this is possible.

Regarding the UR Pet count, the data collected thus far is insufficient to draw conclusions from, but I've done a preliminary analysis of the results to get a feel for what they are telling us. It will be interesting to see how these numbers change as more data is collected. I ignored the UR Lion because its numbers were already gathered before the other pets and are thus much higher.

From least to most, these percentages represent the amount of times the specific UR pet was reported divided by the total number of UR pets reported:

Plains Zebra - 2.49%
Mountains Zebra - 2.77%
UR Mint - 2.77%
UR BFW - 3.32%
Grevy's Zebra - 3.32%
UR Cat (08) - 3.60%
UR Banana - 4.43%
UR Grapes - 4.43%
UR Rat - 4.71%
UR Flower - 5.26%
UR Malk - 5.54%
UR Tiger - 5.82%
UR Cucumber - 6.93%
UR Purple - 7.20%
UR Apple - 7.76%
UR Cookie Dog (12) - 9.42%
UR Blue Cat (12) - 9.70%
UR 09 Dog - 10.53%

Please keep in mind this data only contained reports of 361 pets, which is not nearly enough for what we need. But it's a great start.

The only real outlier I see is that there wre more UR Cookie Dogs reported than pets around them, which I credit to them being new. UR Cookie Dog is OMGSR while the Apple above it is VR, so that emphasises our need for more data. But it's an interesting list thus far.

I decided when i get a day off or something, i will personally count the ur pets from all of the re-releases and record how many there were, that is probably the best way to accurately record data

My counting tool is nearly complete >.< If people would help me we could get the exact count... only the Zebras would be kinda hard as how they where released... the ones released with the horse litter
Most important would be people looking through all the pets and clicking on the re-releases in my script
the rest wouldn't be that hard...
might still need a few weeks to look through all pets, though, but it would be the exact count

Perhaps Amkorra, we could share your script with some trustworthy members and we could assign each member a pet to count ^^ That way the counting would get done a lot faster

Some people just completely ignore the fact that the Rares List already factors in demand and apply it multiple times. They consider demand more important than rarity.

The BA and BMD are technically just worth advent-level, like the other advents and rarity-wise these '08 advents would all be on the low-mid advent level. Demand was factored in with regards to their placement on the september list. People are just completely re-applying demand multi-fold and blowing it out of proportion.

This was just a thought of mine -
If we placed those pets based on their rarity..
Then if people applied demand - they'd give September list pets for those pets, because that's overpay based on the list..

^ A pure rarity list with demand indicators (little up/down arrows or something) would give users more freedom when trading. But it would likely be misinterpreted and demand not applied in the same way the the Rares List is misinterpreted and demand is applied multiple times.

We would need more pet counts than just the UR Pets though. It'd be easy to put together a draft but difficult to confirm that the draft is correct and to maintain it as the rereleases seem to change the pets values in relation to each other.
