Chickens/turkeys/cows raised for human consumption are NOT the same as wild animals. Domestic turkeys are larger, fattier, and much less muscle than wild turkeys, which is why wild ones are so much leaner and mainly "dark meat." Same goes for cows and chickens. That's like saying a chihuahua is a wolf just because they're both canines.
In china, people eat dogs. So I suppose if you want to go this direction, puppies are "meat" animals too.
Actually, a lot of regular people in China are horrified by cat/dog consumption because they recognize them as pet animals, and don't know about/where markets that would even sell them exist. It's not the terribly common thing people like PETA make it out to be.
