Here's a question for you lovely people, as I've always been curious - how do you decide how many of a pet you want to hoard?
Is it a favorite number, a number of some importance, or just a number that feels feasible to achieve?

Currently, I've been on the track of just going forever to see how many I wind up with, but having a set number for one or two hoards might be nice, so I'm debating a bit xD

I've just been setting goals for myself! My silken windhoard started out with a goal of 50, then 100, then 200, and now I'm aiming for 300. I guess I'll stop whenever I get bored of trading for them! Haha that's usually how my indefinite/infinite hoards go, because I don't have a maximum number in mind. Even numbers are definitely super appealing to me though!

For my other hoards: I think I'm capping my 2022 staff dog hoard at 200 because it's kinda boring trading for them; same for my 2022 advent dog hoard; my VR hoards are capped at 20 because I don't want to bleed myself dry lol; and my death's-head-moth hoard is really difficult to trade for so I'm only doing 2 pages of each variant.

I kind of do a mix? Mainly my goals are 20 for things like my Brown Cookie Advents, 50 for rares+, 100 for everything else. Some hoards are unlimited just because I like how a pet looks or because they're dedicated to my son.

Some hoards with other numbers are because I thought it would suit the theme I was going for, like 666 for one of my Loki hoards. Others I had fun collecting and ended up with 200 or 500 or 1k of them because I like even numbers.

A few others are set very high because their end goal will be a date from the franchise they're based on. Or a number related to said franchise in some way.

Sometimes I edit a goal down though because it's too hard to trade for X amount. Or a hoard will jump from Uncommon to Rare before I finish hoarding them so I drop my goal.

There's probably other random things I've done to decide on final numbers but that's all I can think of right now.

Most of my hoards are just 1 page, what you'd see without changing the URL or whatever. So 20 for dogs, 18 for most Butterfly Wolves, etc. I think it looks nice and I dont want/need more than that.

I do have a couple hoards that I like to trade for when I see them for trade, and obviously my Chinese/Lunar New Year hoard which is just ridiculous and I'll never stop collecting.

Do to the fact that I have like 4 species hoards and a line art hoard, most of them are rarity capped.
omgsc-common = 100, uncommon = 50, rare = 10, and then each sitting cat is 20.

I simply just like to have a full page when I hoard something, so most hoards set at 20 pets. I have a few unlimited hoards on pets that are special to me, but they are all common-uncommon pets. Unlimited hoards on rares would eat up all my trade fodder, so I keep those to just 20 pets.

Ive disbanded a few of my hoards and sent them to new homes. After my hiatus I wasnt nearly as attached to designs that I used to enjoy, and I found that I grew annoyed collecting pets that I no longer enjoyed :P Go figure lol.



Now, Ive found myself collecting a few more of these than anticipated, and I love them SO MUCH, that Im going to begrudgingly start my first rare hoard since my 2010 advent rats. I think that these will be a blast to collect, look so cool together, and be so rewarding by the end of it! I think Im going to aim for 50 of them, but we will see. I really hope I can collect them fast enough so the hoard doesnt get too old and difficult to collect by the end of it xD



These got me SO EXCITED when I started hoarding them. They are so child-esque, released in April, and my son was born in April! Collecting these boys inspired by my boy has been super fun, but people have firm grips on their golden gatchas! I have 32 atm, I may shoot for 100 for now?

I've finally reached 200 Jackson's!! This hoard is dedicated to my favorite childhood stuffed animal, Jackson, who is a rough coated collie I got when I was little. I still have him actually!



I think I'm gonna cap this hoard at 200... for now, at least.

FINALLY after however many years hit 75/100 on my '17 christmas gupps kirin/dragondeer hoard omg. u would not think trading for a relatively recent common would be this hard but man. finally 3/4 of the way there!!


i actually didn't realize for a long time that they were gupps of a halloween pps set (i guess i just accepted they were festive enough???), and this year started hoarding the pps set. i have only found them even harder to trade for, so my pain continues. 13/??

The hoard is named for a song by the group Heilung (Healing), which came out in fall. I love this group and have been utterly obsessed with this song; it's the type of music that makes me want to run through the woods and like...be one with nature and all that xD But the music video they released has a bit towards the end where the woman it follows ends up charging towards a buffalo(?) that looks just like this one. It's only going to be a hoard of 20, because it's not a lineart I would typically go for, but I just want a little page devoted to the song. Might even fill in their names with the lyrics, although they're all like...Proto-Germanic languages.

I would link the video bc I do love the visuals, but uh...childbirth kinda takes place in the first 45 seconds or so, so uh....nope.

Done a lot since I have posted last, I have many small hoards but I want to post once again since I rarely do.

"𝐆𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬" is my Western Dragon Hoard, Current count: 2060

"𝐏𝐮𝐟𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐜 𝐃𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐨𝐧" is my PPS Western Dragon Hoard, Current count: 515

"𝐂𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲" is my Duck hoard, consists of all alternate linearts, Current count: 1396

"𝗠𝗮𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝘄 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲" is my 2014 + 2016 Cow Hoard. Final count: 1000
^ it was my first every big goal hoard and it probably one of my proudest achievements on this site to date (-:

My Rescued baby Bearded Dragon passed away January 5th.
He unfortunately sustained too much damage before he came to me. it was a tragic loss but he was comfortable with me in his last moments
I'm hoarding PPS western Dragons for this reason, just the way they sit almost reminds me of him, its also why I specifically separated the PPS Western Dragon variants from the rest. With the hoards I listed I don't really have end goals, but they're my priority since I only have 2-3 more Dreamies left. I love the spirit of hoarding overall haha.
