The Aussie dogs go by the three-month rule, although some people have traded 2-3 '09 rares for them. The dog they've offered you is from the same year and month as the Aussie dog litter, so technically it's fair (if you choose to trade it for 2-3 09' rares.)

But if you also want to consider demand, then it's up to you whether you think it's fair or not.

I don’t see the cat on their side being worth your warrior. It’s only 2-3’09 rares and yours is 7-8 ‘09 rares. The OMGSR are a even swap though

Get a second opinion please, but I think it's fair. Both pets cannot be found on the list since they turned VR not that long ago so it's a fair swap. Technically the item is not needed, but doesn't make it much unfair anyway (:
