Hold. Up . I swear on a bible & all things holy that I got the chihuahua. I know I did because I was relieved I didn’t have to trade for it.

My dog day group had 17 pets in it https://www.chickensmoothie.com/accounts/viewgroup.php?groupid=7345355&userid=205027 I know it did because I checked - specifically before going to bed felling good knowing I didn’t have to trade for more in the morning. I didn’t take picture or proof … because I didn’t think I had to.

But poof this morning it is saying I don’t have it. It’s not in the group …. It’s not in any group - and archives says I don’t have it. I double triple checked to make sure I didn’t trade it - and I didn’t . The group us locked … how can pets just poof like that??

I know I did have it. It wasn’t traded …..

the reality is that there's no way it could've just disappeared from your pet collection. either you traded it off, or you never owned it in the first place. i've had the same thing happen before where i was convinced i had owned a dragon with certain colors on flight rising, but it came down to me just being very tired and not seeing it correctly. sucks when that happens, but it shouldn't take you too long to trade for the chihuahua! i had no difficulty trading for the other popular unique linearts just now. :)

However, I TOO am very disappointed in the lack of selection for dogs. Why do some of the same breed but different color (unless it's the month's adopts). There were so many other breeds I was hoping they would pick. I know there are MANY breeds but, just gah! I was looking fwd to these.

NO Border Collie?!

NO Australian Shepherd -BTW which I have YET to see them do true to the breed standard with a docked tail! And they forget that some Aussies have rose tip ears...

No GSD -there are the older ones but, those are hard for many players to get.

They two bull terriers might be because the artist owns one or especially likes them and wanted to do an extra.

Like you said, there's so many dog breeds and I'm sure they wanted to try to do ones that weren't already on the site in some form. Plus there's the artists' own preference for breeds. Maybe they considered one of those you listed but decided they just liked a different breed better. Besides there's plenty of dogs for them to do another dog day set next year if the artists want to participate. They could do years and years of different dogs breeds.

I also wish they did more different dog breeds. For me I was hping they would make a boxer or at least a german mastiff because hanging lips/flews like with king charles spaniel or others don't seem to get a lot of love. I had hoped for more representation of the diversity of dog breeds!
You are absolutely right that this was the first international dog (and cat) day evere here at cs. I hope next year our artists plan on releasing more breeds.

I realize this was a couple pages back now, but wanted to just follow-up because I was asleep when it posted. ^^ The reason for the extra Bull Terrier was not because I had one, but because I wanted people to feel represented with their IRL pups as much as possible. Bull Terriers have a wide range of colors as part of the breed standard from nearly all white to dark brown/black with brindle, although the vast majority are more on the white side of the spectrum. I originally did the brindle one (based on a dog from my past) but realized not everyone would connect with it because most people likely recognize the white version first - think Target(R) dog. The other breeds I selected, perhaps with the exception of the Catahoula (which can also be brown/tan), have pretty standard colors/markings without too much variation.

For my part, the other breeds were selected because they were not previously represented on the site and because I had a prior relationship with a representative of that breed. I did an audit and purposefully chose breeds that had not been done before to help people (again) feel represented - especially those who have less popular/known breeds. I did include the store pets (corgis, and other breeds) in my audit as well. There were many other breeds I considered, but since I am not an artist, I was not able to bring them to life (poodles/pumi/mastiffs/bloodhounds/etc. being among them). Those edits are just too far beyond my skill-set.

I can't speak for the other artists - who did an absolutely fabulous job on their breeds and bringing more diversity to the site - but hope that helps give perspective on my designs anyway (and why there are two Bull Terriers lol).

Also for those who feel they were not represented this go-around: there are hundreds of dog breeds out there, and you're right, we could do YEARS of International Dog Day and still not get them all. Who knows, maybe there will be a 2022 edition and some of the other breeds mentioned will be included. Note: I'm not aware of any plans for next year as I am no longer a member of staff, but anyone is always welcome to add their breed suggestions to the suggestion thread as well. ^^ If there is enough interest, maybe an artist will chose to do a monthly litter with some of them in the future.
