I haven't been following this thread too closely, but I think that they are based off of amphibians, not reptiles as the little turtle on their flank suggests. This could be what the artist meant by saying that they were very misleading (or something along those lines).

Nope, just contacts. Even tho they look very pretty and it would be cool to get a blue eyed one too!
