This is my first CS Christmas, but I do feel like the gifts fell short of the hype this year.

I also noticed the Toxic thing- compared to the numbers of other rereleased pets, there seems to be a lot of them running around.

Well, technically, there is no objective to CS. If the point of the game was to get a complete collection, then I'm sure the admins would have worked it so that it was possible, but that's not the point of the game.
And you have to keep in mind that people who have gotten good on-site pets from the boxes may not want to share that fact, in case they get overrun by trade offers.

Okay, then let me re-phrase that. The goals of many CS members is to get a complete collection.
I did consider that, but even by scanning through random members' pets to see what they got comes up with no valuable pets. The majority of the valuable pets I've seen, I've found off this thread.

You're right, I suppose. I got pretty lucky this year- I was hoping for an '09 rare at the highest, so I was pretty shocked when I saw what I got. I'm guessing it's just random chance. The more pets there are, the less likely it is to get a good one.
Hopefully next year will be less chaotic.

Yes, exactly. The aim of Chicken Smoothie is to get a complete collection, right? So now that we've tipped over the 200k memebers mark, should they be re-releasing more of those hard-to-get pets? It just doesn't make sense to me =\

Perhaps, they just didn't figure it that way?

It could be that it happened by chance. It just seems so odd that the previous two years have seen a brilliant release and then this year is so "dull".[/quote]

Maybe a good solution to this would be simply taking out the chance of getting anything under a rare in value? This is a really interesting conversation, with a good point. Perhaps if you only had a chance of getting a Rare, Very Rare, or OMG So Rare, from at least a year before, it could help circulate more of the hard-to-get pets, while at the same time not taking up more space on the site for more common pets that are much less desired in the first place. I'm sure there's a flaw to that idea, but it seems nice in my head.
