(I'm pretty sure it was this one out of the litter... I remember one of them was VR, but now all 4 are just rare!)

I would guess that a large amount of accounts returned to adopt pride month pets. After accounts are inactive for long enough, their pets aren't thought of as being "in circulation". They don't count for the rarities. When these people come back to the site, their pets return to being "in circulation" so the rarities go down. The number of pets on the site hasn't changed, the userbase has. You'll see rarities dip around big events like Summer, Halloween, and Christmas when large parts of the userbase become active again. As for why this month? Like I said, my guess is the pride pets.
