Store pets are not really meant to be rare+
The point of store pets is just to be an incentive for people to buy C$, so CS can earn a bit of income for site upkeep and that's about it. If people are willing to buy so many store pets that they turn uncommon or less, then that's just the way the cookie crumbles. It just hasn't happened yet.
It also took several years before we saw the first rare store pets (the corgis), so maybe it's just a question of time before we see the first uncommon store pets. Who knows!

Personally I'm not going to contribute to an uncommon store pet. I'm going to buy 1-2 sets of them like I always have, no matter how much I like them.

Agreed - nobody said store pets have to be very rare.
With how high the limit is, it is perfectly possible for uncommon store pets to exist.
It is rather a "feel free to buy as many as you as long as they are in the store", I just personally think that asking a bunch of people to spend their (sometimes hard earned) C$ isn't the wisest choice. ^^;

To clarify I wasn't being serious it was a sarcastic remark. Just saying that it could be done if people wanted to for whatever reason. And I'm sure eventually it will be done with the right set. I only buy 1-2 sets if that (for collection and for future trading) and thats if I can't just trade for them. People take things way too seriously, I'm not asking anyone to do anything.

See, that is the problem - many, many users do that here, that is why I jumped in at first. We have quite a few really young players who do not get irony/sarcasm via written text either.
I was aware how you meant it (or rather I assumed), but I've seen too much in all of my years here.

Shall we do what we did with the Storgis and try an experiment? Everyone just buy as many kitters as possible and break the record first broken by the corgis which were the first store pets to be rare. Let us aim for uncommon store pets. I don't see it happening but maybe one day with the right set. Haha

Raven dog was rare for a year and that was back in 2010. I don't think it requires much for a store pet to become rare and not very rare.

On another note, I'm definitely getting some Halloween vibes from the foxes this month. The leafy pattern is great but the eyes are the best.

I'm considering a little hoard of the orange ones at least.
