I voted to have both UR pets and Store Pets added to this list, but I just wanted to add here another idea I've had.
I've seen other people talking about it, but I'm not sure if it's been really considered: having a separate "section" for store pets. This might be confusing, but I want store pets to be included in the list. However, in addition to that, I think it'd maybe be a good idea to have a "store pet exclusive" list, separate from the main "rarity list" but on the same thread, that explains the rarities of store pets, why they're different, why older store pets are so much more rare, why more recent store pets aren't worth as much, things like that.

People don't really trade store pets for other store pets, which is why I think they should be included on the main list. But, store pets are unique in their own right, they're different from every other pet on the site.

This was actually one of the reasons why I was so on board with Sin starting up a new rarity list in the first place. I've always kind of thought Store Pets deserved their own list of sorts.

I agree with this, though I personally changed my vote to only add URs since I think it'd be good to add those to the same list/categories .

I agree in that store pets should be on the list, but in a separate category to explain what they're worth since they're not able to be rereleased making them somewhat more valuable, especially older store pets.

I agree, it's difficult to trade store pets for other store pets, since they are much more rare than regular pets, which is why I think they have more value than they seem to be given at this time. So a list of it's own outside of this list, may not be the best idea, unless it directs back here and gives some sort of indication as to where they fit into this list and what they are valued at against non store pets. Not sure that makes sense, not very good at putting my thoughts into words!

I'm curious, for those who voted to not add store pets, what ideas do you have for a list of their own? I haven't been able to go back too far yet, but so far I haven't really seen any suggestions or thoughts on that part of it, and just wondered how it might work?

Sorry I haven't been participating in this thread, I just noticed the poll though and thought I should let you guys know that I made a Store Pet Guide that hasn't been posted yet. If you want a sneak peek at it's current draft, you can preview this but please don't post it anywhere. I've offered it to another user who has already agreed to take on a forum search guide I sent them, so I am waiting to hear back whether they want this one as well.

If you feel like this guide should be a post in your overall project though, you are welcome to absorb it into your guide if you think it will fit. It lists store pets from oldest to newest, but it also includes important information about trading store pets and the history of specific store pets, to help users value them accurately.

    Store pets are released once every two months. Once a store pet is retired, it is never put up for sale again, but you can trade them with other players if you want an older/retired store pet. Most store pets become Rare or Very Rare once they gain their rarity tags. The oldest of store pets are now OMGSR.

    You should pay attention to the store pet's age (year of release) and rarity tag, but also...

    [list][b]Skelebun & Orange Cerberus[/b] were the first Store Pets. They were more expensive than other store pets, and only available from Oct - Nov 2009. This makes them the most rare and valuable of store pets. Orange Cerberus was more expensive but more well liked, so more were purchased compared to Skelebun. This means Skelebun is the rarest of all store pets and this was why it was first to go OMGSR.

    [b]Drink Me & Eat Me[/b] were also released in Oct 2009, but were available until Feb 2010 so their rarity is lower. Drink Me was more popular than Eat Me so more were bought which is why it has a lower rarity tag. This is the same for [b]Green Liontail[/b] and [b]Raven Dog[/b]. They have higher demand but also higher supply. More people like them, but there are more around.

    [b]Winged Green Android[/b] was the first store pet that could not be purchased individually, only as part of a set. This means this outcome is rarer than its littermates because less would have been bought. This will be the same for all store pets that are set exclusives (only available when you buy the full set). Even today there are store pets released this way.[/list]

These haven't been updated in a while but it's interesting to compare my Store List prior to the overhaul and after to see how accurate my placing was.

There are also links to some threads I've been using, but I mostly do a site-wide search with keywords for each pet.

I love the idea of having a rarity change cut off, it'll make the List a proper list of the rarest pets rather than all the very rare pets on the site.

Thank you for that information, though it doesn't really answer my question as far as how the list would work in relation to what the pets are worth in trades. Those things only show their rarity and when they changed, and I'm not sure how that information is supposed to help when knowing what is a good fair trade for them? Any ideas on how to make it readable for traders who want to know what is a good value for them in regards to non store pets? Because as I stated above, it's difficult to trade strictly store pets for other store pets, especially the older ones when all you have is newer ones, so it would be good to see how they rate against non store pets.

At this time I think I will go back to adding them to this list, though I agree with nikkolah that it would be nice to also see a separate section just for the store pets, perhaps the information you showed me about the store pets could be included in a post on this list.

I wonder, with the store pets, would the list need to be updated yearly with them moving up the list as they get rarer and rarer? I say this cause it took the Skelbun 9 years or so to get to OMGSR status. It gradually crawled up and was neglected on the rares list for so long.

That’s what I was thinking, and that was actually one of my reasons for voting to add URs and not store pets. Store pets have constantly increasing value that goes up each year, and they get harder and harder to find as time goes by (getting locked on inactive accounts, locked up in hoards, etc... and they do not get re released no there is not a new supply of them each year), making it a bit more complicated than simply placing them on a rarity based list and leaving them in the same position. C: if the moving of the store pets every once in a while isn’t a problem, then by all means, put them on the list! But it might be easier to not add them.

It forces us to keep the thread current and up to date, so it won't become like the Rare's List where we end up 7 years without any changes aside from URs. I mean we could still do updates regardless but there would be more pressure to not slack off with store pets.

From strictly a numbers point, of course, it'd be good to know where they were and how many are out there.

I feel like I’ve wasted too much time debating with people on the rares list thread, when it could be much better spent contributing to a list I actually care about being completed.

It seems like virtually everyone I've seen vote or post is on board with adding URs to this list, with store pets being the main source of discussion.

I'm wondering if maybe we should do a poll to get a clearer idea of opinions? Something like?

How would you like store pets to be treated in relation to this list?

2. I would like store pets to be added in to the main body of this list and also have a separate section within this list thread explaining more about their worth.
3. I would like store pets to be left off the main body of this list but have a separate list comparing their rarity and explaining their worth compared to regular pets within this list thread.
