I'll have to show how to make one of my favorites later (maybe tomorrow) but ironically I literally JUST finished watching part of a play through of that paper Mario origami king game 😂

ORIGAMI!!! 8D This is something I want to get back into, but where I'm living right now there won't be enough space for too much origami LOL

I discovered origami in elementary school and was super into it back then! Still into it to some extent now.

When I was younger I didn't have access to special origami paper, so I usually chopped off one end of regular computer paper to make a square lol

and then after a few years of doing that, while I was waiting to be picked up by my parents from school one day, I made my own duck from the leftover rectangle strip! Nothing fancy but I was super happy about it at the time. Maybe I'll post the instructions here later. It was basically folding in the corners on one end, then flipping it around and over and folding in the corners on the other end, then keep on repeating and then I did some shenanigan when the paper was small enough.

I'm no good with paper (I struggle to make very simple paper airplanes, so it is a Thing) but this is very cute and I'm very glad CS is celebrating it. Thank you!!

Goodness this takes me back to when I had an entire army of cranes covering my bookcase as a kid. I loved making sticky-note cranes SO MUCH

Omg i used to make origami as a kid. I recieved an origami kit (different sizes, colors and patterns of origami paper and instructions) as a gift. I think the most complicated ones I've ever done was either the kangroo (with a tiny kangaroo in the pouch) or the peacock. I think they were both rated at intermediate difficulty. I used to love to go get books on it and try making new things.

I used to try to do the super complicated pieces but tended to fail pretty early on. They used such intricate and difficult folds. The finished pieces were absolutely beautiful though. I wanted to make them so badly.

I haven't done orgimi in so long. Hmm... Maybe i should go back to it.
