Well the only reason why I say American Indian, or South American in the case of Aztecs; I believe? Its been a bit since I've looked to see where they reside. Either way its because many explorers or Columbus had thought he found India; a short cut. XD not a new country at first. Thus Indians. I hope that helped.
Either way I'm just pleased with their over all design and can't wait to see what the little guys turn into, lol now I want furs to wrap them in or something to keep warm. X3

Aztec, Myan, Incan, etc. Indians are NOT the same as Native Americans/American Indians. They are a distinctly seperate group of Indians. So in this case yes it is South American Indians. Not trying to start an arguement just figured I'd throw that out there to help. *Not that I care what group people want to name them after

Newho I LOVE the pups, they're just sooo cute!
ETA: They do look like little Aztec pups .. I have to agree on that note
I'm always willing to accept art and post it in my thread and in my sig so feel free to draw away!

Not all adoptables are gone. The Malk Pets are still there, I just saw them.
But it isn't Spring where Tess and I live

I dunno about Native Americans, especially Aztecs and Mayans. To me it doesn't feel like any Mesoamerican culture.
...You could always try and consider other aboriginal cultures such as the Maori of New Zealand. ;)

I did consider a few cultures, but Maori seem to use a lot of curves and swirls in their designs, whereas the only culture I found that uses square spirals (In Aztec this was prolly as close as they could come to rounded curves considering stone is rather hard to carve) was Aztec... I've had fun learning different patterns today though!
Either way I think these first dogs of the Month are my fave so far ever! I love square spirals, and their face paints looks so tribal!
I can't wait for growths!

Okay so i was reading your arguments....and some of u say tribal some of you say Native Americans some of you say Aztec...well i did a little image research very brief...nothing to intense...welll here is what i noticed....
the native americans tend to go more the the dogs/wolves its a very popular animal amongst them and they tend to use the dark brownish greys that the March puppie seems to have here is an image as an example of the markings/colors....

Now as for the Aztec's well they tend to go more with the felines and birds and dont have much to do with any dogs/wolves...but not so less the colors are more of reds and yellows and lighter browns but the blue used on the march puppies are similar here as well...but the markings are slightly less straight lines and more curved here is some random aztec image id suppose...
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/b5/Aztec_Sun_Stone_Replica_cropped.jpgthe image was to big to post here
and as for the tribal stuff...well its just a no no :p
over all id have to go with the Native American theme

Oh, yeah. Sorry.
I was thinking Indians as in from India because of that dark red color. But does it really matter until the pups grow up and we start trading them?
