If everything was "cute + big eyes" then they'd all just blend in together and feel a little boring IMO-

I don't get the dislike for equines at all.

Yeah, I'm kinda in that park of not equating everything with big eyes = cute. Sure, people automatically gravitate to the face of the pet they're looking at, but there's always more to be taken into consideration of a design that makes it complete and even appealing (aka, a pet or design might grow on some people the longer they take a moment to look it over).

As for the horse dislike, pawed animals seem to be just a generally more popular thing (in general, especially with the furry fandom—nothing wrong with that, of course, just an observation). It could also be the fact the horses look more realistic. Personally, I think the realism fits the larger animals such as the western dragons, deer (especially the front-facing), and of course the horses, because large animals have smaller eyes in general.

Plus, I think the fact they look less "cute" in the eyes and form gives these larger creatures a more regal and "majestic" look. It fits them. I'd find it rather odd if the horses had a more soft look to them. MLP? lol

And the "ugly because I don't like it"-thing annoys me as well.

-it is a little unfortunate that the rate dislike is so strong that possibly half or more of the trade rules I read include something along the lines of "I hate them, do not trade them to me".

Rats and horses seem to get the brunt of this kinda stuff. Maybe I'm a little biased for liking rats. The pound's last remaining pets are often the horses and rats, which I kind of noticed, too. Also the thing about the "grittier" trade rules against these adopts I seen quite a few times.

There is no problem with people liking certain species and disliking others, but it's just that the way some people voice their dislikes for these kinda adopts is... harsh, I suppose. Not just about the dislike for the species, but the art too, y'know?

Not super often. I'm surprised we've had it happen twice now this year (March fish cats)!

I am really excited for these fennec growths, I love the pastel gradients soo much.
Also I missed the brown puppy growth so I didn't realize it existed until I saw this thread but the warm colours look so lovely to me... we're getting spoiled this month!

I think it's funny how only a week in all the rats are already grown 🤣 Eager babies, I am not complaining, I adore them! Again... pretty gradients.

Yes, that is always on purpose - it doesn't happen thaaat often, but often enough. If you didn't name your newborns when they grew up, you have to wait until they hit their full grown form. Best to wait until then to trade too ^^
