Shima's birthday is in September [the 23rd, to be exact]. If it was available in August, it was at the very end of the month. ;) It's most likely Equi's, as her birthday is August 16.

ASKFLJGEK I only just got on to get the August pets, but they look spectacular! I'm excited for:
Blu's butterfly wolves
The Cheese (I love cheese!)
Nepherim's litter
Shima's cats
DisabledLlama's Second Gens

I've had the same feeling for some past months. My interests are the same; the Gargoyle/Clocktower litter, and the store dogs. But I think it'll be interesting to see the other pets grow c:
