Escaping
A Rat Love Story

Ghost [m] and Pangaea [f]

"We're gonna escape, Pangi!" I said to my mate, who wasn't very confident at this point. The Volcano was erupting, Mauna Kea to be exact. I didn't know what life was like outside of Hawaii, and I didn't even know that we had a Volcano on this island! Our home was being covered with lava, and it was all pooring in from windows. Our humans managed to escape, and I heard the littlest one crying, because Pangaea and myself could not be taken with them.

I was biting on the cage so hard. I just couldn't get out, but I wasn't going to tell Pangaea. She just looked at me and finally said, "I love you, Ghost." I knew what she was thinking. She knew that we weren't going to make it. "No, Pangi! Think positive!" I yelled back at her. She looked at me with sad eyes, and her and I both knew that we weren't going to make it. I kissed her soft fur and then started nibbling again. "Hon, could you come and nibble this side while I nibble at the other side?" I asked her. She nodded her head and began to bite at the cage.

Phew. Free at last! After a couple minutes of biting, the cage door flew open and we were out. But there was lava all over the floor. What we were suppose to do? We looked around. Our humans had left their toys! There was a doll helicopter, thank goodness. Pangaea saw it too. I nodded to her and told her that I loved her, kissed her on the cheek and went towards the helicopter. How am I suppose to get to it? I thought to myself. Then I remembered our cage. We had a wheel in it and it extended far out. It was a hamster cage, but we didn't mind. I climbed on the cage, and then to the highest point. "What are you doing?!" screamed Pangaea. I didn't answer her, just jumped right to the top of the helicopter. Luckily, I made it. This thing would be a breeze to fly! I had done it many times when the humans left. I flew the helicopter over and told my mate to get in. She did so, and I flew the helicopter to the window, then out. We caught up with our humans. "Mom! Look!" screamed the littlest human. "Its Ghost and Pangaea!" Our human Mom was amazed. I flew the helicopter over to her. She grabbed it, then turned it off. "To save the battery," she said softly.

Then we all sped walked away from the Volcano, we were pretty far away from it, but just then, somebody screamed, "Lava!" they were obviously a tourist. They had a funny accent, atleast to me. My Human Mom switched on the switch and told me to go fly the helicopter, right behind her and the family. I did as I was commanded, as my humans ran in terror.

I know this isn't really a 'pairing' and I have to admit I don't like the dogs! However, these three caught my attention. Plus, they make good music together!

A she-pup was rolling around in flowers, pleased with herself, letting out little cries of delight. Another pup - a male, was watching her, unnoticable. His brown eyes set only on her, he watched. The She-pup looked at the sky. "It's late!" She said to her "imaginary friend." "We should go." The She-pup set off, alone, although she thought she had somebody with her. The male pup looked at her go, saddened, and went off in the opposite direction..

Two years had passed. The young she-wolf, Dusk, commonly called "Dusky" in front of her friends, was trotting along the meadow, smelling the flowers, and breathing in the fresh air. Her parents had died when she was a pup, killed by the Cheetah Tribe. "Hey!..." A deep voice called out to her. Startled, Dusky ran away, but she took one look at the wolf that had called her. He was of the Cheetah Tribe, she knew. Still running, she ran back home, where she was greeted by Gracie. But she was not in a mood to talk, and she eventually went to sleep.

A month had passed, and countless times did Dusky come to the meadow, unaware that a certain wolf was watching her. Whenever she heard a sound, she fled into the trees - for she did not want to be caught near the border: The two tribes fought constantly, and were harsh against each other. Every time, although Dusky did not know it, the wolf of the Cheetah Tribe tried to come close - but each and every attempt he failed, unable to say a word. But it wasn't going to be like that this time around.

It was another normal day, and Dusky sat, admiring the sunset, and breathing in the fresh air, as she always did. Suddenly, there was a sound, and something came right behind her. Dusky flinched, but she didn't move. "...I'm Moon...." The wolf said in a deep, slightly nervous tone, but confident. Dusky turned around to look at the wolf. He was rather handsome, and had the traits the Cheetah Tribe had - the Cheetah-like markings, but he was a graceful, blue color, with a dark blue-black paw, ears, muzzle, and tailtip. But what was the best about him was his eyes - his deep, brown, patient eyes. Dusky registered him immediately as the wolf who she had seen before. "I'm... Dusky... I-" Moon said softly, "I won't hurt you..." Dusky asked, "Why?... We are of different tribes. Isn't it natural for you to take me to your alpha and..." Dusky trailed off, with a shiver. Moon responded, "I couldn't do that. Ever. When I was a pup, I watched you play in the meadow... and I could never take my eyes off of you. And here you are now, my personal miracle. I would rather die... than reveal you to the Alpha." Dusky looked at Moon. "I know. I've seen you as well... And you're the reason that I came to the meadow. I knew you'd be there, watching. But I also knew we just couldn't... do it..." Moon looked at Dusky longingly. "Of course we can... we can leave all the horrible fights that happen here. We can live in peace... Would you?... For us?..." Dusky responded, "Of Course. I'd do anything for you... Anything." She let out a smile. Moon smiled back. And so, the two wolves set off in the direction of the Sunset, leaving all... all of it behind, always to live together... Forever.

Bluez blinked, and looked through the windows, and put a paw on it. How could have he been caught?.... Who would put a balloon on his tail, and act as if he were some sort of useless animal?... Shaking his head, he turned around. Bluez was the only rabbit there, and the only one of his kind. He was wild, until something pierced him on the side, and made him fall unconsious. Looking around, he saw a foul, fat, boy, grinning wildly. "I want that rabbit, mom. I want it now!" He said. His mom responded, with a fake smile, "Yes, Yes, we'll get you that rabbit, son." I tried to move back, but it was too late - one of the staff picked me up, and handed me to the boy. The woman handed over 400 dollars. "There." And so, They walked out, and took me away to a car. I struggled, and tried to get away, but the boy had me in such a tight grip that I couldn't. "You'll have to live with me now. With everybody else. Oh, and you'll need a name... I'll name you Mr. Eddy. I tried to glare at the boy. Mr. Eddy?!?!?! What kind of a name is that?..... My mind screamed. When we got there, I would ditch them right away. After all, nobody could catch me, I was the master of escaping. Soon enough, we reached the house, and went inside. It was an average house.... The boy took me to a dark room, and shoved me inside. "Stay there, or else you'll be rabbit roast." The boy said in a threatening manner, and shut the door.

I looked around, and I could see another pair of eyes, staring straight at me. "Let me get that light back on.." A femine voice said from in front of me. I heard a few thumps, and a light turned on. There was a big room, filled with plenty of books. But that wasn't all. I could see a rabbit - a rather beautiful female rabbit, looking at me, with a balloon that said "CS" attached to her tail. "I'm Spotty. And you are?..." I responded, "I'm Bluez... I was caught by those creepers at that store." Spotty looked at me, dumbstruck. "Creepers? Those dudes are not creepers, compared to this guy!" She pointed a paw towards the direction of the door. She must have meant the boy. "Why don't you escape?" I asked. Spotty stared at me. "You don't see any way to escape here, do you?" I looked around. She was right. No windows, no anything... Even the doorknob was missing in the room. But then I had an idea. "Hey, Spotty... do you reckon that if we make enough noise, they'll open the door, and that we could dash out?" Spotty shrugged. "I don't know." She looked into my eyes. I looked into hers. "But we can try." She smiled. "We can always try."

And so, our plan hatched. Tommorow, at 6:00 in the morning, we'd make enough noise to get out. Soon enough, the time came. "Here comes Plan A!" I yelled, as I helped push countless books over. There was plenty of noise from the things we were pushing down to the ground. Clunk clunk clunk! I heard footsteps. I leaped down to the ground, with Spotty next to me. The boy opened the door. "It's 6:00 in the morn-" He didn't say anymore, or we didn't hear him anyways, because we had darted out of the room. We ran down the stairs, and I saw an open window. I hopped on a chair, then onto a table, and then onto a windowsill. The window was open. "Help!" Called Spotty. She was stuck, hanging onto the table. Alarmed, I ran over, and tried to pull her up... but the boy was coming. "I won't leave you!" I yelled, and I pulled.... it seemed like forever, but I did. We jumped out of the window, forever leaving the family which had practically tortured me - even though I'd known them for only a day. The boy let out a scream, and you could hear a thunk! Appearantly the thought of losing "his precious rabbits" made him faint. We ran, until we reached a part of forest. Tired, we hopped over to the forest, and inside the forest. I saw an unused Rabbit Den, and I went inside - Spotty following me. "We've escaped..." I rasped. Spotty looked at me. "We did." She let out her warm smile, and came closer to me, so that our fur was touching. I looked at her, and let out another smile... It was another victorious day - but I didn't only escape, but I fell in love.

Aww, thank you Aura! Glad I'm getting some good reactions. I'm in love with them for sure. *giggles* And, one of these days, just in case, I need to write my story for them in my 2nd Gen Family Collection page. Silly, I know, but I enjoy doing it. ^.^
