Count the spots. :3 - Each number of spots on each rat is an unlucky number. We were trying to figure it out one day here with a bit of help from Llama. I got a cookie from her for it.

Any way, so to get back on topic, if the rats are based off of unlucky numbers, what number exactly is each one based off of? I'm a bit dense this early in the morning and just don't see the connection. :/

Im not sure if these numbers really are unlucky, but thats what the artist said was the theme for them.

ok so the unlucky numbers are 4, 9, 13, and 17 if I've counted right? ^-^

13 - A more obvious unlucky number we're all very used to.
17 - A very unlucky number in Italy.
In Italian culture, the number 17 is considered unlucky. When viewed as the Roman numeral, XVII, it is then changed anagrammatically to VIXI, which in the Latin language it translates to "I have lived", the perfect implying "My life is over.".

9 - Unlucky number in Japan because it sounds like the Japanese word for 'pain'.
4 - Unlucky number in China because it sounds like Chinese word for 'death'.

I can tell you why 4 is unlucky. 13 kinda speaks for itself.

4 is a Japanese unlucky number. One of the words for four is "shi" which also means "death." Some hospitals in Japan do not have rooms with 4 in the room number for that reason.

Edit: Ninja'd, but 4 also carries over to Japan as well as China.

In china, 4 sounds like a death word, but it's not shi, it's si. 死。 death

I absolutely love the last storm dog growth! It's positively adorable. And those eyes! I loved all of the growths from the storm dog litter, and from the daft punk horses. The ponies and other dogs were cute this month, but not among my top. The unlucky numbers rats were awesome, and the candy ones were again well done, but not my favorites. All in all, this was a greath month of growths, and I can't wait for next month!

By far and away my favorite outcome of the month, for so many reasons. The base colors are wonderful and complement the blue nicely and just fff I love this dog. CS needs to do more pets along the lines of these guys. C:
