Sorry about that, one of the main editors kinda poofed--once we get ahold of them and they can update the front page with the edits we just discussed (including chopping up the first two posts so that they're not overwhelming; we were too deep in the trees to see the forest until others came in and pulled us out lol oops), the thread should be finally ready.

I honestly never understood the rares list guide even though I've been here roughly (minus a hiatus) since 2009. My general trading policy is to look for missing outcomes, not trade pets I only have one of, and to trade at the same rarity value.

Why I tend to lock most of my groups is mostly that I have a personal preference towards which pets I want and what ones I'm willing/ less willing to trade. I sometimes hoard a few extras so I can organize them into future groups.

'Which side do you prefer?" sounds super lame. I need more trades and title ideas. Only one person sent in their trades and I don't think it would be nice of me to go around copying other trades without their permission.

as for a title,,,,,it's honestly hard to think of anything so I can understand why you're stuck on that! maybe something referring to how this is a survey on trading methods? like 'survey: would you accept these trades?' or 'survey: which side is worth more?'

Only newer ones, older ones, if so how old? I’m sure I have some I could send over (too many actually) so of you have any sort of restrictions I would like to know before I so pulling up my trades. ^^

This is what I have so far. Please do not actually submit answers/responses. I sadly can not write with a mouse-pad, so my letters are sloppy >< Please leave my suggestions for it! Should I leave an "I still follow the list" option? I feel like it a good idea so we could also collect data on how many users follow the list. If I missed some block of information on what these pets are worth now, please let me know! most of my irritation with the situation comes from my lack of information and what to do with myself and my pets now.


I feel like now, trading is useless. All the pets values are just floating around, undefined. I feel the list, rather than providing a way to demand far too much for your pets, simply proved to give a reference when trading, some sort of way to know and have a backbone for what was rarer and what pets had more demand-
Seeing it completely gone after i traded using it for YEARS makes me want to give up trading as a whole, especially witnessing the trades I've gotten for the cerb I have- recently valued at around 5 non-dogs/a sunback... It just feels pointless to even try anymore.
I wanted a revamped list, one based off TRUE rarity, not demand,
it just doesn't seem like a good idea to completely be rid of the backbone of trading for so many people and what was referenced for so long, by older members, to ensure they'd been getting good trades- so many people will be left in the dumps (myself included) and be without what they'd tried so hard for, for so long, all the efforts thrown away in something they could accomplish now in such a smaller amount of time (I personally love the cerb's design, and was making the effort to get one for that sake, not their demand.) now it's seem to have lost so much demand and rarity being placed at the same value as other pets it's age and i mean-
what are pets that age even worth now?
If they're booted of the list,
what do we have to go off to know their value, if not the list?
I'd like to use Animaljam as a reference for this situation.
Many people on that game use the wiki as a guide for the rarities.
If the wiki no longer existed, many people would be clueless as to the rarity of their items,
and it'd be harder to find someone willing to take a "fair" trade because to one person, what's fair, is not the same to another- because there's nothing defining exactly the true value of the items.
This game, as I feel chickensmoothie is,
is in a way, most used for it's trading system.
As much as chickensmoothie has many other reasons to be on the site,
Trading has always been a huge part of my reason to play, and many other's .

I just think removing the list will cause a lot of issues.

I don't really know where to ask this so I'll just ask it here. Is there any way that knowing how many different pets of a specific rarity there are would be useful for anything?
