I remember when this bun went up in rarity along with its brothers, now it's the only uncommon

I had the same problem. I don't like it. My beatiful red dragon is a rare now instead of a very rare

just curious: what is defined as an "inactive account" for the sake of determining rarity?

i'm guessing it's maybe an account that hasn't been logged on for a long time? (like 12 months?)

It's more likely that this particular store pet was bought more than the others in its set. Store pet rarity seems to fluctuate more than normal pets' rarities, though I'm not sure why,

If memory doesn't fail, it's 6 months before deemed inactive.

Ya but it just recently changed rarities. Not when it was in the store. So no one could of bought more of them when it went down in rarity, I can understand when a store pet goes up in rarity because people join all the time. But how can one go down when it wasn't re released and it's been a while since it was released in general. I understand how store pet rarities work. That some can be bought more then others and cause them to be more rare or less rare. But once there retired their numbers nearly set in stone. Only changing if someone deletes a one.

But rarity is based on the number of pets "in circulation", or the number of pets on accounts that have been used recently. Someone could have bought this pet in 2014, then they went inactive and it became vr, then they came back for December 18th this year and they're active again, so the rarity goes down.

Ya I thought so.. And since accounts can be counted as inactive after 6 months of inactivity. The people who only Come at Chrismas with those cats on their account will bring down the rarity.. I'm sure it and many other rarities will go back down once people become inactive again.

That and even though there are measures to prevent people from cheating on the 18th, I guarantee you there are people who still do it. That plus the re-release and inactive accounts coming back. I'm pretty sure there was another big drop around the end of spring last year, maybe the beginning of summer.

I remember being a bit irritated since I have a hoard with them in it, though that's almost done now.
