Upcoming Rarity Changes Discussion

Is anyone else surprised that many rarities went down in this update? I know there was a while there where every update a bunch of pets would go down in rarity, but I really expected some to start going back up. I'm really hoping that maybe after the summer event some of the rarities will start to go up again, but I don't really know what to expect anymore.

Pet rarities used to be based on total number of pets per total number of accounts. Not the total number of pets in active accounts. Couple this with the massive number of inactive bots that were recently found and deleted, and rarities not only dropped, they fluctuate now... So yea while the system is technically better. Its also kinda messed up at the same time due to activity fluctuations.

And anyone predicting no rares this summer event? Seems like everyone was caught up with each day.

I feel that maybe the alicorn will be rare or uncommon. Maybe the lollipig might be rare? Just my theories :3

Uncommon max probably. I hardly traded in this event as I traded most of my tokens away for C$ and rarer pets and I snagged two of them from the box. Perhaps I got lucky but I doubt it.

I feel like the only reason they seemed harder to get was because their rarity was exaggerated and their demand was high because they're pretty. This happens every event. People assume pets will be rarer because they're harder to get.

There are always pets made out to be rarer than they actually are. People overpay a ton for them because no one wants to trade them easily because they feel they're rarer and they know they can get more because of demand.

Usually pets that are super in demand do end up not that rare, because more and more people try out for them. I'm pretty sure ted's box got bought the most of all the trade ins, just to get the 'rarer' pet. I personally think if anything will be rare, it won't be out of those boxes but we'll have to wait and see xD

i know for sure the shark dogs will be common, probs less though xD so many of those were traded in haha

I get what you're saying, but I traded in at LEAST 100 tokens and never got an alicorn or a lollipig. I had to trade for them. Luckily, I go them cheap, but I stand by my statement c:

You also have to bare in mind that these were of the first pets available to trade in for. That means people had the whole duration of the event + extra trading token time to get these pets. I just can't see them being rare, uncommon's probably the more likely outcome imo.

I agree DaDwarf, I feel like the outcomes from the box may end up being some of the rarer pets out of the whole event because we had limited adopts.

I respect both of you guys' opinions. This was my first event, so I am not totally clear on how these work, I was just guessing. Thanks for letting me know, i'll bear these in mind for future events.... Next up, halloween
