So what changes the rarities? I get if the pet is a rare and the dec 18th rolls around to change it. But how can a 2012 pet that was common suddenly become very common... That seems impossible to me.

December 18th also rereleases common pets...not everyone is guarenteed a rare. That's why a few do go down

Acctually, only Rare+ pets are released on December 18th c:

That's incorrect.

You can get Uncommon and under pets. December 18th, releases any pet, from any year, with any rarity.

Example:

both of these are Uncommon, and are dec 18th re-releases.

Those were rare before I believe, and went down to Uncommons, I may be wrong but I do remember them being rare at some point.

I noticed Dadwarf actually confirmed what I posted, that common and uncommon pets can be re-released during december 18th.

They were quite popular. I can see why.

The reason the PPS is very rare is because you had to buy the entire set all at once to get it.

If I may input, I have only see people receive Rares and up (non store pets of course) durring Dec 18, they turn uncommon or drop rarity because so many of one pet was released into the system, I have talke to users who have had that happen. Even I have had this happen with a Easter re-release

When zodiac dogs were still uncommon, they were rereleased. And the 2010 Christmas huskies have also been released. (example). So uncommon pets can be released too. :)

I'm pretty sure (although I'm not positive) that re-released pets have at least one rare in the litter. However, that doesn't necessarily mean that the pet you get will be rare. So for example, the huskies...there is a rare husky in the litter, but the rest are uncommons. The entire litter is re-released and some people will get the rare, but others will only get uncommons. I could be wrong, but that's how it appears, judging from previous re-releases.
