- The shading on that kitten is normal, yes.
With colours as light as the ones being used, it will look a lot darker/be more obvious than on cats that have a darker colouration. A lot of times the artists may choose to alter the colour or opacity of the shading layer to match the base colour better.
A good example would be this litter by sphynx:
As you can see, these cats' shading is more subtle; unedited it would be darker.
I had to do something similar with Mitch; the original layer properties made the pale parts of his fur look odd IMO.
Only on the adult, though. I didn't change anything about the kitten's shading.
