"How much is this pet worth?" Thread - STORE PET INFO! Read!

Hello,

I have a few rares list store pets that I have kept locked simply because they would be hard to replace if I traded them.

My question is, what might I get for them if I were to auction them? Either list wise or demand wise (such as, what tier might they trade up to in a best case scenario, or what "special" pet might they trade up to, like a higher store pet, Malk, etc)? If you go purely by list value, they are nothing special and I can easily afford to keep them locked. But I am so low on trade fodder right now, that I could be tempted to trade if they are worth enough demand-wise.

I apologize to everyone who hates demand questions, but I hope you will agree that in practice, it is hard to swap a Green-Fronted Holly dog for an Eat Me. I may never have a chance to own the Eat Me/Drink Me set again, so I only want to trade them if I take demand into account. I hope that makes sense. If I ever get a complete pet collection, I think I will worry less about demand, but I've only been trading for 5 months so I'm very much in the rat race.

Should I try to get this pet to complete the Punk Dog Set, before auctioning? Would that make a big difference (worth the time and cost of finding the last piece to the set)?

If so, could you give me an idea of what I could expect to pay for one? I don't want to insult anyone by offering too little, but I have no idea how much they are valued. Is it comparable to the Raven (which everyone seems to be obsessed with) or more like the Patchwork (which is special, yet attainable if you have the right thing to offer for it)?

From what I've been seeing, I believe the Punk Dogs are more along the lines of "special, yet attainable if you have the right thing to offer for it"; they're popular, but their demand is not over-the-top like the raven, shima longtail, black advent, etc.
You might want a second opinion on that.

1. I've paid a blue rose for the set. I've never seen anyone pay more than a bottom line main list when demand was very high (about 5-6 months ago). So the very best would be something from the low main list which all things considered is pretty dang good. I can't promise you'll get that because like I said that was when their demand was way up. Now I believe right around a mid/high september would be about the highest it would go. :)

2. I've seen the set go for quite a bit... just those three could get you around a pink september (not floppy eared). The gap between them and the red rose line is actually quite significant so I wouldn't say you could get any higher than that aside from maybe a rat that's a bit higher.

3. On all five you shouldn't have too much trouble hitting the main list. I can't say it will definitely happen but I wouldn't be too terribly surprised if it did.

4. Lolitas were in demand a while back but now they've settled down quite a bit. Typically offers of mid advents and perhaps an 09 rare or two are fairly common. You won't have to pay a ton to take one home and a full set would probably give your auction much more "complete set" appeal. In my opinion you'd probably pay less than it would benefit you in the end for the lolita because on their own they only bring in a few 09 rares worth of overpay while a full set would give you a bit more of push. :)

As for the current store pets, they're worth roughly a late 2010 rare or an early 2011 rare (but more like january 2011, not like april 2011 or something)

Wow! Thank you so very much Kyar (and Nickjr!) for the very thoughtful and thorough responses. I will save them in my CS trading file that I keep. One of the things I am doing to reduce the number of questions I ask is to edit a rares list official values spreadsheet that can work as a quick trading reference. I hope that this will also be of use for the newer members I mentor and for answering questions accurately on the FTT when no experts are online.

What could I use to get this bunny?



It's a 2011 Easter Bunny. The rarity is "Rare."

It is the Zorse Bunny. As a bunny collector, I have found that, often the simplest way to get the bunny you want is to offer a dog of same date and rarity. If the Zorse bun is in a trade group, any rare dog should work. If it is not, you may want to offer a wishlist dog or even a year earlier in date. What I mean of course, is offer the trading partner a paperclip for their Zorse bunny if it is for trade. If not, offer an overpay trade-up.

The actual value of the bun is another rare Easter bun from the same year, so keep an eye out for one and maybe you can swap it for your dream pet. Good luck! This bunny is a bit hard to get, especially when you first start looking for bunnies. But it is quite easy to get compared with the Easter bunnies from 2010!
