Still very unfair, I'm afraid. =) Take a peek at the "main" list here. You can find the Zebra up towards the top! Unless an offer has one of the pets from "above the gap" or a lot of lower ones, it's going to be unfair for your zebra.

'16 store pets usually go for a '10 late rare. So the first trade, is unfair to the trader. The second trade is unfair to you ( I think ). I recommend a second opinion.
