Like others pointed out, this kitty is probably sleeping and will wake up as an adult.
The horns make it resemble a devil. Perhaps it's just resting before its evil plans to take over catland.

Okay so if dates are important and not knowing if my date of June 1 is the same as Lucky's June 1 or CS's June 1....

Here goes from bottom to top...

CS June 1 rolls on my May 31 @ 5pm...

Day 5 Kitten growth (Pacific US growth is June 4 @ 5pm) IF it actually is June 4 then it deals with Voldemort attempting to get the stone, OR if it is June 5 then it's Draco Malfoy's birthday. I'm just going to say no to either of those options.

Day 8 kitten : If it is June 7th - Remus Lupin resigns as Professor of Defence Against the Dark Arts due to it being revealed that he is a werewolf. IF June 8th - Gryffindor wins the house cup. -- The little kitten has horns... So not likely to turn into a gryffin. Additionally not likely to turn into a werewolf nor into a grindylow.

Day 10 Kitten: If June 9th - Well Charles Dickens died... (So sad. Love his works.) June 10th - Absolutely stinking nothing!
I think we can write this one off the possibility list.

Day 12 Kitten: If June 11th - All first years received their exam results. June 12 - Last day of filming for the film adaptation of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is completed, ending a decade of filming for the Harry Potter series.
(My heart just screams that this is the correct kitten. But these are just my thoughts)

Day 14 (PPS KITTY) - Yes I'm going there! No one talks about it but I'm going there.
June 13 for those of us in California at 5pm...
1943:Tom Riddle frames Rubeus Hagrid for Myrtle Warren's murder. Aragog is released into the Forbidden Forest.
1996: Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, and the rest of the fifth years start their O.W.L.s
June 14th - Nothing happened.
The O.W.L. that was sat on June 13/14 was Charms ... Written and Practical. And this is a very "charming" kitten. Moaning Myrtle... Forever stuck as a Hogwart's student living in the U-bend of a toilet. (Now that is PPS in and of itself.)

And there is the break down of "teen stage" HP related growths... Now for the rest of you to put on your thinking and sorting caps and figure out which kitty with transform into Auroria.

I just got ready for bed after attending my Panic! at the Disco and Weezer concert though, so I'm going to bed, but ZEL omf I love your cat so much. It's very nicely editted and designed, and I agree with a user that the black accents look so so good

I meant to post this the other day, but thank you all for the kind comments about my cat. This one is indeed mine (not that there was much doubt).

It fits both hints that I gave. The purple eyes, and this one that a lot of people overlooked because I left it quite understated on purpose. Afterall, just giving you the eyes hint gave it away :')

I really enjoy that people have noticed how much I loved purple eyes on my staff dogs xD Working on the cat lines brought me back to my first staff dog. It was a lot of fun to use new lines.

But it refers to the dot pattern I used on both the cat and my first staff dog. I'm glad it was well received with its simplicity.

You did an amazing job on your cat Orchid Sprig! I love how simple it is and I think that the purple eyes look very nice. <3

[desperately attempts to suppress a tired yawn] How's it 4am again, oops.

Thanks everyone for the compliments on Mitch! It really means a lot to me, as I was very nervous about him growing up^^
Here's also a shoutout to everyone who participated in the guessing games, you all made this a lot of fun for me!




Lil' Mitch is indeed inspired by a Major Mitchell's Cockatoo.
I say inspired, because in the real bird, the crest is the only part of their plumage to sport the vibrant red and peach colours that I liked so much about the palette.
I originally intended to make a Salmon-crested cockatoo, y'know, just for the joke. But when we settled on our palette, I decided to go with this one instead.

I know that this outcome is definitely not going to live up to everybody's expectations.
I'll confess: I oftentimes find myself disliking the heavily edited staff litter outcomes. I appreciate nicely executed edits, but more often than not the extreme edits aren't my cup of tea.
I did not add wings to this cat for the simple reason that I don't care for wing edits. There are a few pets on this site (bar actual birds/dragons) where I do like 'em: pets like last Christmas' dove dogs, Chia's 2013 staff dog, or the 2011 gryffin store dogs.
But yeah, I'm just personally kind of tired of wing edits and did not want them on my cat.

Mitch is not supposed to be a bird, he's really just a feathered cat^^
I did try to add feathers or fluffy edits to the tail. I had several sketches with completely edited tails. They all looked way too crowded to me, I didn't enjoy them. So I settled for colouring the tail a bit, and it immediately made me happier.
(Seriously, at one point I ended up loudly cursing at the tail, it just wouldn't look nice to me.)

I'm really happy that so many of you do enjoy the final design, and I'm sorry for those who I'll inevitably let down. There are lots of cute birdy pets out there, though <3

Once again, you did an amazing job on your cat ZΕL! I love the feathers, and I must say it does look like the major mitchell's cockatoo. <3

I really do love the spots on Orchid Sprig's cat, and ZEL's cat is even cuter knowing that it was inspired by a bird.

not that I least expected it... they do love birds lol

@Mystra I think you got a bit confused. If a kitten grew at Age 8 that means it grew on the 9th not the 7th...
