Oo I'm confused, I don't see where it states in the store or anywhere that store pets are VR. It all base on how many people buy. I think there was a set of dogs that were so popular, their rarity when they first got their tag was Rare. So yeah, their rarity changing doesn't bother me.
That's correct. Store pets aren't "supposed" to be very rare. Like any other pet, it depends how many are on the site vs users.

☠ Personally I think people are making way too big of a deal out of all of this.
Just try to be patient, the pets will gain their rarities back in time. ^w^
Something I do not understand though is how pets that came out during March lost their rarities? It takes an account six months to go inactive, from what I've been told, yet pets from four months ago somehow lost their rarities? Maybe there was some sort of miscalculation or the way rarities are distributed has been upgraded to something more accurate?

I have a theory on that.
Easter egg hunt attracts rampant cheating. Cheaters get caught. Their pets get put in the pound, where they're presumably not counted. Rarities on those pets go up. Then they get released - I actually saw, on a couple of occasions, huge numbers of one particular March/April pet in the pound...
IOW, the rampant easter egg hunt cheating was even worse than normal and skewed the rarities on those pets?

Yeah, that doesn't really make sense - I'm pretty sure pound pets are counted. ^^ The pound is technically an active account.

Well, pound pets aren't really in circulation, you can't trade with the pound after all. So they technically shouldn't count untill they're adopted and out of the pound again.
But it's definitely an active account, so I'm assuming pound pets do count toward rarities and I'm not sure pound pets would have
that much effect on the rarities anyway. Yes, there's
a lot of old rares in the pound, but I don't think there's enough being adopted out to cause this drop in rarity.
It's more likely that a lot of old inactive accounts with
heaps of old pets suddenly becomes active again.
